Saigon Bay Bed & Breakfast in Bocas Town provides adults-only accommodations with free bikes, a terrace, and a shared lounge. Nicolas was a very friendly host, and the breakfast—freshly prepared every day—was absolutely delicious, with a choice of five different dishes. This is the ideal BnB for anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet stay. The free bike provided by the accommodation made it easy to reach the city center in just a few minutes. It's worth noting that the rooms are not serviced, but I personally didn’t find that to be a problem. Thank you so much for having me!

Located on Bocas del Toro, Barrbra BnB Over The Sea is a 2 story house built directly over the sea. The house includes 4 rooms on the 2nd floor. We had an amazing stay; Marco and his team are so kind the whole time, and made us feel at home. The breakfast was incredible, the trust bar worked fantastically... Really nothing bad to mention about Barrbra. There is also a dock there where you can get taxis into town or book tours- so you don't even need to go into town for activities if you don't want to! The place itself is beautifully decorated with a great common area. The wifi was great to work and take calls; sometimes it cut out but that was an island wide thing. AC in the room was incredible and a godsend Would come back here if we return to Bocas del Toro

Free Wifi is available throughout the property and Istmito is a 3-minute walk away. I was very happy with my stay. The apartment was exactly as described: clean, cozy, and quiet. Everything I needed was there — including excellent Wi-Fi, always hot water, and a perfectly working air conditioner that helped a lot with the heat. A special thank you to the host, Carlos — such a friendly and helpful person. He picked me up from the airport, gave great local recommendations, and was always available when needed. The location was perfect — close to the beach, shops, and the town center. There was a slight smell of humidity when entering the apartment, but that’s absolutely normal for the local climate and didn’t affect my experience. I felt safe, supported, and truly welcomed. Thank you so much for the great hospitality! Muchas gracias, Carlos. Me sentí muy bien cuidada. ¡Todo fue perfecto!

The best part of Isla Colon was the wildlife around our accommodation which was near the junction, a couple of km out of the town centre. Could have easily spent more time there just relaxing. Don't visit Starfish Beach for the starfish - there are only a few there these days. It is now over-run with tourist shacks/stalls. Nice spot for a still water swim and the trail in from Drago Beach is a nice walk (about 1km). Bluff beach has a terrible "road" out to it full of potholes and rough but easy enough to pick your way through on a rental motorbike. The beach is OK with surf pounding in that seems rough and unpredictable with a couple of rips there that would be dangerous to be caught in. I wooudn't swim there and I have been body surfing for more than 50 years. Italian restaurant near the junction is very good. Isla Bastimentos was great except for the rainy weather. Good wildlife along the track to Wizard Beach - sloth, capuchin monkeys, lots of birds. Also a nice beach.
Big Creek is in our opinion the best place to stay in bocas. As it is not right in the city and more towards the most famous surf beaches you get the best of both worlds. The Jungle here is so pure and the wildlife is amazing, there are monkeys, sloths and tucans jumping and flying all around you. The Taxi drive to the center costs 2 dollar per person and takes 7-8 minutes. By bike you´ll need approximateley 20 minutes. If you are looking for amazing Wildlife and some relaxing time out of the noisy "pueblo", then this is definitely the right place for you.
The weather was sunny and warm. The taxi boats to beautiful islands were convenient. Red frog beach and Zapatillas beaches were beautiful! The water was warm. The people were friendly. We saw sloths ,monkeys, red frogs, starfish and dolphins. There were plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and bars. A week in Bocas del Toro was fun, relaxing and enjoyable!
it depends what people are looking for. Its good as a starting point for day trips, but don't book via street vendors, I got ripped off. The town is crowded, the main road was dug up, but never fixed, when it rain's it's a mess. There are a few nice clothing stores. The food was mostly fried. There are a few nice hotels, I walked into one, it was a dive center. Its better to stay on one of the many islands.
Wait another year or so until the infrastructure construction is completed: concrete sidewalks, streets paved, and storm drainage completed. There are too many restaurants serving just hamburgers or pizza. When is the water from the tap going to be drinkable?
Bocas Town offers many services (supermarkets, pharmacy, cafes) and seaside hotels with cafe-bars around well-designed docks. It is a good place to find tour operators and sign up for day tours to some of the prime beaches (Bluff, Estrella/Starfish, Wizard, Isla Pajaros, Isla Zapatillas) and resorts (Red Frog, Nayara, Playa Tortuga, Bocas Villas etc) in the different areas of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago.
