Set in a convenient area of Mae Hong Son with a walking street nearby, Sarm Mork Guest House offers accommodations close to Wat Chong Kham and Wat Chong Klang. Warm welcome and pleasant facilities. Nice plantings all around. I chose to park on the street because the parking is all in a row, so if there should be someone else with a car............. But easy to park just in front.
Located in Mae Hong Son, Uncle Aod Home has free bikes and barbecue facilities. All rooms have a kitchen and a private bathroom. Free WiFi is at guests' disposal. We spent three enjoyable nights at Uncle Aod’s in Mae Hong Son thanks to our very accommodating hosts, Rae and Thunder. They provided daily breakfasts in our own clean and innovative two-bedroom Thai house that kept us away from mosquitos and cool enough to forego air conditioning (though a/c was available in one of the bedrooms). A floor fan kept us comfortable while sleeping. Rae and Thunder treated us as honored guests by providing free snacks and round-trip airport transportation, letting us use their clothes washer, and driving us to a pharmacy to ensure that we purchased the right medicine when needed. They also provided helpful suggestions about local eateries and interesting places to see in and around Mae Hong Son. Both hosts have full-time jobs. But we were lucky to arrive at the beginning of a weekend when they had free time. We gladly accepted their reasonably-priced offer to escort us to area sites, some of which were two hours away by car. Thanks to them, we visited a fish cave, rice paddies, Buddhist temples, roadside restaurants with complex dishes served simply, waterfalls, and a gorgeous valley of yellow Mexican sunflowers that only bloom in November. We would have never seen as much on our own. Our stay in Mae Hong Son was the highlight of our three-week tour that included Chiang Mai, Krabi, an island in the Andaman Sea, and Bangkok.

Just less than a mile from the city center of Mae Hong Son and 1640 feet from the walking street, Jasmin Resort features air-conditioned rooms and free private parking. Jasmin Resort is run by a couple of very lovely people who made us feel incredibly welcome on arrival. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, and are set in a lovely compound featuring a lake full of local fish, which makes for a relaxing view. Quiet as it’s a short walk away from town, so good for people needing a rest. Thoroughly recommended!

Located in Mae Hong Son, P.L.P Guesthouse - Mae Hong Son has a garden and a terrace. Both free WiFi and private parking are accessible at this property. Room was great - large, comfortable, and clean. The staff were so friendly, and the food at the cafe across the street (which I think is part of it?) is really good!! Get lunch there when you stay!

Ask for Pom the local tuk tuk driver to take you where you need to go. He has a car for day trips and is cheaper if there are several of you, then paying out for tours. He is love and speaks good English
Takes some getting to if travelling by road. This itself makes it worth seeking out. Nice nightmarket by the lake. Crossroads Bar serves good cold beer and reasonable meals. Mr. Chans Nature Walk was a highlight. This guy knows his patch of dirt (river) very well.
Great to enjoy the night market by the lake. Take a trip to see the bamboo bridge. Not too easy getting around without own transport - wait on main street to spy a tuktuk. Nice walk to mini waterfall in nature reserve.
After the large hustle and bustle of travelling through the busy towns of Chiang Mai and Pai, it was a much needed stop in Mae Hong Son to unwind and relax! The quiet sleepy town not only provided beautiful views and quiet atmosphere but prices for everyday items were significantly cheaper than the tourist areas; all of a sudden, we were paying half price of what we usuallly did for a large bottle of beer! If you're looking to do nothing for a couple of days and reset, this is the place to be
The night and morning markets are both amazing and full of tasty food. Mae Hong Son is very relaxing and it isn't packed full of tourists. There are lots of nice things to see in the surrounding area as well.
Mae Hong Son is a quiet town rich of cultural diversity of Thai and Shan people. It's beyond words of how to describe the beauty of Mae Hong Son. It's a must for all people traveling through Thailand 🇹🇭
