Clean, comfortable, historic Bothy with every need anticipated and provided. Quiet place, really comfortable bed, great shower, delicious coffee/tea and breakfast, plenty of maps and travel details shared so we knew exactly where we were headed when visiting local sights. Parking included.

This place is exactly what you hope to find at the end of the day after a long hike - an authentic old english pub with great food and drinks. The rooms were much bigger and more comfortable than expected and included a kitchen and living area.

Jackie and Steve were wonderful hosts, couldn’t do enough for us. Great contact before hand and even offered to book us a table at a local restaurant and preceded to drop us off and pick us up! Breakfast and packed lunch were brilliant and we made our choices for these the night before. On our Hadrian’s wall trip, this really was the height of luxury - we would highly recommend to anyone passing by this way.

The accommodation is outstanding. It was clean,cosy. We staying in a self contained flat above garage and it was so comfortable and peaceful, it had everything you would need. Jackie the owner was lovely, so welcoming and her breakfasts were plentiful and delicious and the cooked breakfast was amazing.

However, Jackie was very accommodating and made up the second bed. She went above and beyond to help us book a table at the Samson Inn when I couldn’t get through. The flat was well appointed with everything you could need for an overnight stay. The breakfast was excellent, and the fried eggs cooked to perfection.
