The property is located 36 km from World of Beatrix Potter, 23 km from Kendal Castle and 28 km from Cathedral Church of St Peter. Lancaster Castle is 29 km away and Lancaster University is 38 km from the inn. Excellent hospitality, great food and very clean. Made us feel at home with our little dog !!

Nice welcoming atmosphere. Has been extensively updated.

Loved everything about this hôtel!! We stayed in the shepherds hut which had incredible views and a fantastic bathtub. We loved the outdoor fire pit, and the breakfast was delicious. They make little cakes during the day so you can have a sweet treat and the staff is lovely.

Breakfasts are all made from high quality local produce, with a selection of traditional full English breakfasts or vegetarian and continental options. Located in a perfect location within walking distance of a number of eating establishments Breakfast and staff were extremely helpful. Had a room on the top floor with a vertical spiral staircase. Ask for this room. Provided parking which was also a plus. The rate should have been higher as one could not ask for more. Would have paid more without a second thought.

A delicious breakfast is provided each morning in the chandelier-lit dining room, which has a log-burning stove for the colder months. Full cooked options are served, along with cereals, yoghurts. The Guest House is very well decorated clean and fresh. Our bedroom was a good size very comfortable bed with a TV and tea and coffee facilities. Excellent shower is very powerful in a separate cubicle. There is a small lounge for guests to use with a fridge and microwave. Very nice dining room and breakfast was excellent with friendly accommodating staff. Looked a bit out of the way on the map but perfect location as a base for touring the lakes. Bus stop outside. Londis supermarket next door at the garage that stocks most things you might want including food and drinks. Five min walk to a lovely pub that had a good choice of drinks and great food menu. What we had was excellent. On site car park We were very pleased with our choice and happy to recommend.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning.

Each stylish room has fresh light décor. The breakfast choices and the system in place for everyone to have a table when they wanted and pre-ordered breakfast was great. Lovely setting. Extras on the buffet were great.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels.

Bowness-On-Windermere's quaint shops and restaurants are just a short walk from The Westbourne. Free parking is available. The room is beautiful and the bed is wide and super comfortable. I checked in quite late, and sent the message earlier so the landlord kindly manage to sent the instruction on how to find my room key which I found it very helpful. The room amenities also quite generous with tea and coffee collections and chocolate drinks. Thanks a lot 👍🏽

String of Horses lies in the middle of one of the most beautiful and historic areas of Britain: near Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District and the Scottish borders. The staff, atmosphere and location. The restaurant was also exceptional.
