Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). Very welcoming staff and overall nice atmosphere in a beautiful house. The dorm room was spacious. Inclusion of curry for dinner and simple breakfast are a great plus for the price. The location is perfect, close to the floating Tori gate. I didn't use any of the onsen but it's nice they provide this facility.

The staff were very friendly. I found the bed comfortable and the whole quest house was very charming. The restaurant attached to the guest house was good and convenient, and the view of the garden from there was lovely. It is two minutes away from Mitaki-dera, which I found to be an underrated beautiful place, now one of my favorite temples I have visited.

Best guesthouse I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. Very clean, nice facilities in a recently renovated house with exposed beams and all wooden flooring. Comfortable bed, privacy ensured. Incredibly nice owner. I would stay there again.

Gamigami is located with a fantastic view across the inland sea with islands near and in the distance. It is a pity that cables are in this view as seen from the rooms but you can go up on the flat roof for an unobstructed view. It is not very far on a nearly flat road to the ferry to Onomichi so it makes a good last night if you are cycling from Imabari taking several days as we did. We had a comfort Japanese style room.

This place made us feel like we were really in Japan with tatami floors and shoji screens in a beautifully restored traditional house. The story of the restoration project is interesting too. We walked up to the temple and the observatory at the top of the hill, and explored the surrounding streets before going biking on the islands the next day. Wished we had stayed two nights instead of only one. The futons were comfortable and warm. Other guests were considerate and quiet. Facilities were clean.
