Located in Mesão Frio, a 35-minute drive from Lamego, Imaginário d´El Rei features a seasonal outdoor pool and sun terrace. Everything was perfect—the staff, breakfast, room, location, the view of the Douro River, and the Jacuzzi. We were able to enjoy it even in the cold weather. We’ll definitely come back again.

Casa Das Laranjeiras is an awesome hillside property with an amazing view of the Douro Valley and the Pinhao Quay. Antonio and Cristina, who own and run the place, literally obsess about keeping the property clean and in tip-top shape and are an absolute delight to interact with. Apart from the common kitchen area where one can cook, the rooms themselves are very well furnished including a refrigerator, a nespresso machine (including adequate pods), an automatic citrus juicer, a toaster oven etc. The oranges and the bottle of port wine are a nice gesture. The property is apparently 1700 metres from the Pinhao station and google maps shows it to be a 15 mins walk. However, please note that the route to the property is uphill and may be difficult to do in hot weather. There are limited number of taxis at the Pinhao station, so would be helpful to get the taxi company's contact number before coming. The property is west facing, so one can take a gentle walk to Pinhao station in the early mornings.

They were exactly as described, very clean, quiet, with good air conditioning (which was definitely needed at 38C), and an excellent breakfast. I would definitely book again
