Stayed one night (well, from 18:00 to 01:30, really) during Paris Brest Paris 2023 Audax. Was welcomed after a 520km nonstop bike ride from Paris with a beer and pasta - brilliant. Slept for a couple of hours and then had breakfast (banana & mango smoothie, mango, etc.) at 01:30 a.m. before setting off to Brest. A lifesaver of a stopover.

The cottage is in a wonderful area, close to the canal flowing from Nantes to Brest -- you can have enchanting bike tours along it. The area is very quiet, the garden is beautiful and colorful and Robert, the host, is extremely kind and easy going. He is ready and happy to help and always respects your privacy. The room is big, the bed is very comfortable and the view on the two sides of the garden is relaxing. Access with a car is easy (you can park inside).

I arrived a little early but it was no problem, check in was quick and easy and Cliff welcomed me and explained everything in a very friendly manner, like home from home. The room was perfect, large and warm, the bed was comfy, the bathroom spotless and the bedding and towels clean and fresh. Breakfast was more than enough, too much for me, coffee was unlimited and it was nice chatting to Cliff as I was the only one at breakfast. Glomel is a quiet village but everything you might need is very close. Cliff & Mary Ellen are very knowledgable about the area and suggested places to visit that I didn't know about, Carhaix Cyclists Memorial and the Valley of the Saints are only a few Kms away. 5 Star and thoroughly recommended.

Lovely hostess. This was a small gite on a farm and we stayed one night before the ferry. It had everything you could possibly need for a good stay, including a really friendly hostess with excellent English (she put our faltering French to shame). There were freshly baked cakes on our table for a treat as well - yum yum.
