The owner is very nice, and despite the language barrier (I don't speak Italian and the owner doesn't speak English), everything was well communicated. The arrangement for the keys in the evening was very helpful for us. The room was comfortable, clean, and equipped with air conditioning, which warmed up the room very quickly. The owner was prompt in responding to any questions and also provided suggestions for restaurants. In the room, a surprise awaited us in the form of croissants, marmalade, olive oil, toasts, coffee, pasta and bottled water. Melzo is only about an 8-minute walk and a 30-minute train ride from Milan, which was great for us as we were primarily there to visit Milan.

We absolutely loved Il Mulino. The building has been very well restored and the location is very rural and peaceful, although it’s not far from the Milan ring road. Our room was quite spacious, simply but comfortably furnished and had a nice shower room. We ate in the restaurant and had an excellent meal - all good local stuff, very simple but beautifully cooked and excellent value. Breakfast was very good too. The lady who owns the place was very friendly, as was her assistant. All the rooms are fitted with bug screens, and there’s air-con, so no problems with insects (although I’d recommend insect-repellent if you want to eat outside (it’s a water mill after all). Il Mulino is excellent value, especially as the price includes parking. We’d definitely recommend it and hope to stay again.

Nice, new interior with notes of Italian style of this apartment enjoyed our eyes and were comfortable to stay! Besides of being beautiful, apartment has all small and big things to make your stay as you would be home. Children enjoyed many toys in the yard and in a room as well during late hours. Car parked in the closed yard in front of apartment. We could travel to Milan by metro. You’ll need a M6 zone ticket. Walk way to the metro with small children might be long but travel itself is unproblematic. On the way back from a metro station to the apartment we found a good pizzeria with captain hook that makes delicious pizza and has interesting choice of local beers. There is a good supermarket in several minutes by car. Extremely helpful owner were quickly responding to our requests, met us same moment we arrived. He advised us several local farms on our request. One of them had pony with a donkey, so not only we bought fresh fruits and vegetables but also children were extremely happy from lovely animals.
