Unfortunately, we stayed only one night, but this place is just great and the hosts could not have been more helpful, the communication was excellent and the coffee was the best ever. This small hotel is not only new (opened three years ago) but also perfectly maintained and super clean. Tucked in a quiet and safe corner, in a short walking distance to a shopping mall (2 mins away), taxis and ATMs, the hotel is also close to the city centre, so we even walked downtown (15 mins) and back in the evening. The beds meet the standards of a four-star hotel, so you can sleep comfortably after chilling in bed watching Netflix and resting before climbing Chimborazo.

The bed was really comfy and allowed us to get a great night's sleep to enjoy our time in Riobamba.

Located in Riobamba, 14 km from San Andrés, Casa de Mármol provides a shared lounge and free WiFi. Irma have such a warm welcome to Casa de Marmol, and really went above and beyond to make sure my visit in Riobamba was fantastic. Warm, friendly and helpful. They helped set me up with a tour to hike and bike at Chimborazo, and provided great recommendations for what to see and where to eat in town. Room was comfortable, and the bed cosy. I didn’t use, but there was also some comfy shared spaces for relaxing at the end of the day.

My only regret about visiting Alausi was not staying longer. I first came to hike the Nariz del Diablo which I highly recommend if you want spectacular views, but would have stayed for the small town, the food, the people and the Community Hostel. Don Marco was nothing but welcoming, making me feel right at home, in this beautiful property he has. The rooms were spacious and the breakfast really good. If you have time you can even sit down and chat with him around a cup of tea and a couple cookies. While there I suggest to go eat at La estacion del tren, you might even run into Don Marco eating lunch there. Everyone that I met took the time to chat with me. It is truly the best experience I’ve had so far in Ecuador!

We had a medical situation with the altitude and the hotel stuff immediately called an ambulance that helped us a lot as part of their included services. Food, cleanliness, and friendliness was top and we will definitely be coming back if we have the chance.

Located on the foothill of Chimborazo Volcano, Chimborazo Lodge offers rooms with heating in Chimborazo Natural reserve. There is a restaurant, and free parking is provided. Riobamba is 36 km away. The lodge is set in an amazingly beautiful location at the foot of Mt. Chimborazo. The herd of llamas, alpaca and spunky vicuna are fun to watch. It was special to meet Marco and his family and learn about his life. He is a legend.

Set in a charming country estate featuring 2 restaurants and 2 bars, Hostería La Andaluza offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and plasma TV in Riobamba. Breakfast is provided and BBQ. Incredible grounds, amazing interior. Spa services were excellent. Peaceful and relaxing. Delicious buffet breakfast and amazing selections for dinner. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Set in a country-style house with elegant Colonial décor, Abraspungo has rooms with free Wi-Fi in Riobamba. Hotel Hacienda Abraspungo has Spanish galleries that open to the garden. The place was very clean and beautiful.
