The room, the staff, the restaurant and the position close to the city center. They also offer breakfast takeaway for who, like us, wanted to start an hike early in the morning. We didn’t find anything we would like to be improved.

The 4-star Aqua Natura Madeira offers elegant rooms with Atlantic Ocean views in the fishing village of Porto Moniz, 45 km north of Funchal city centre. It offers a sauna on site. We had the pleasure of staying at the hotel for just one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. The room was excellent, featuring an exceptionally large and comfortable bed. However, the highlight was undoubtedly the breathtaking view from our room. We enjoyed relaxing on the balcony, taking in the stunning ocean scenery. We highly recommend this hotel!

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Owner is very nice and she cooks very well! Breakfast was good and the room was clean and comfy! We had a nice ocean view!

Beautiful views, friendly and attentive staff, very nice breakfast. We were there at the beginning of January and were able to enjoy the outdoor pool and ocean views. We had a car (which we recommend so you have the freedom to explore the whole island) and there is free parking available below the hotel on the street with a lift up to the hotel. We will definitely book in again if we come back to Madeira.
