She took the time to answer all my questions with great patience and always offered helpful tips on local attractions, transportation, and even hidden gems in the area. It was evident that they genuinely cares about the guests' experience and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels at home. The hostel itself is clean, safe, and has stargazing deck. It is also close to one of the most beautiful beach in big island.

I highly recommend to stay here if you visit Big Island. The hosts are so kind and helpful they really put their hearts and mind into this little lodge. The property is around 28 km from Kealakekua Bay, 33 km from Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park and 42 km from Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. This 3-star bed and breakfast offers private entrance. Finding Hale Hualalai for our last two days on the big island was a stroke of luck. The facility is tucked away off a mountain road surrounded by coffee plantations and endowed with a panoramic view. It was a distinct pleasure to have conversations with Ricky, who is an excellent host and cook. We particularly enjoyed eating his delicious breakfasts while gazing out at the beautiful view and watching the hilarious antics of the geckos. Ricky is also a great source of information about the island and Hawaii in general. The location is great for coffee tasting. (Be careful about getting over caffeinated and driving on the winding mountain roads!). We initially chose to stay at Hale Hualalai because of proximity to the airport, which is only 15 minutes away by car.
