This is an incredible oasis set right in front of a little valley, with grassland and small ponds and hills with caves. It’s stunning in pictures, but even more breathtaking up close. The view from the pool is surreal, and it’s a treat to dine and drink outside. You’re a few kilometres away from town, which is great for disconnecting from the usual humdrum of shops and tourists. Huy took great care of us, helped book a reasonably priced boat tour, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast and the a la carte dinner of Vietnamese fare were both delicious. If you’re in Cat Ba, this is a great place to stay for a different experience than the usual.

Very close to the beach, and the pool and garden are lovely. We used the airport shuttle, and breakfast included options for all diets. Our room was clean and charming. Highly recommend this place!

We loved Joystay. The cabins are lovely, the staff are kind and the location is perfect. A quieter area away from town, but right near a beach and a quick scooter ride to town. Highly recommend this place!

Staff were super friendly and helpful, we booked a boat tour through the homestay. Cannot recommend enough! Breakfast was also really good. Room was clean and spacious.

What an incredible stay! The location is amazing, surrounded by mountains and greenery and within walking distance of the national park, and the rooms are quiet and comfy. Of course I can’t talk about how great my stay was without mentioning Chilly, who helped book boat trips (I highly recommend the sunset tour if you get the chance!) and in my case some bus navigation, which he was very patient about, even picking me up at the harbor on our way to the homestay. The entire staff is really friendly. I also really loved the family-style dinner because it meant meeting lots of interesting travelers. Would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Cat Ba!
