Amazing experience in this recent property (opened 2024!) ideally located a few minutes from main attractions by foot (Acropolis, Panathenaic Stadium, National Botanical Garden) Staff was really nice and available, provided great recommendations for dinner and activities Breakfast buffet was great, lots of choice and the view of the Acropolis and Parthenon adds a nice touch to the morning experience Room comfortable and like new, perfectly clean! Bedding was great and apparently you can choose your pillows from a selection ! Parking availability was a decisive factor in choosing this hotel even though it’s fairly close to bus and tram stops (10 minutes to Syntagma)

FAQs about hotels in Athens

A Dynamic City with 3400 Years of History

With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history whilst embracing the future. Take a stroll back in time through the neoclassical streets of the Plaka, where you will find tavernas serving tantalising souvlaki and mousaka, street vendors and live entertainment.

A trip to the Parthenon and the Agora top most lists and can also be appreciated from a distance by walking along the Dionysiou Aeropagitou street, which is away from the busy crowds downtown.

Changing the guard occurs every hour on the famous Syntagma Square. From here Ermou Street provides shopaholics with a fashionable retail sanctuary. The up-market districts of Kolonaki and Kifisia are also bursting with fancy boutiques, galleries and bars.

Athens contains some of the finest museums in the world such as the National Archaeological, Acropolis and Benaki Museums. From Athens International Airport to the Port of Piraeus, this is a city bustling with the old and new. On Booking.com you can find everything from modern hotels to a room in a classical building.

Free street, shopping, and tourist attraction maps.

Free street, shopping, and tourist attraction maps. Use them to get around: Athen is not a systematically laid out city. Visitors should learn to read the Cyrillic alphabet, before arrival, for street and other signs. This does not mean you have to learn Greek language, just learn how to translate from Cyrillic to Latin letters. People are friendly, but don't forget your backpack in a taxi or in the street; it will disappear. Of course you must visit the Acropolis/Parthenon; how could you visit here without seeing this famous ruin? However, be prepared for a strenuous climb, and a more strenuous admission price--€30! Other prices can be added, so watch out. Licensed tour guide---€100 per hour. I visited in February when admission lines were practically non-existent. Any other season, especially summer, could see line waits that last for hours. And it would be hot weather! Ruins of antiquity origin are EVERYWHERE. I just wonder if they are worth even a picture: after all, they are just ruins--collections of stone pieces of former buildings of antiquity. The people are friendly and helpful. I ate at TGIF near the hotel--but you shouldn't. There are restaurants near the Acropolis that are worth investigating. This area is also another happening scene.

Very good choice for a long weekend, with many interesting things to see. We visited early February and the weather was mild and pleasant. Good for visiting town and the acropolis with lesser people and not under the heat. We did not have time to visit the surroundings on this visit, we will come back.

I booked for an entire week but "completed" the best things to do in about two days. My advice: look for the first sunday of the month: the entrance to all historical sites and museums is completely free due to greek law. Then go to one of the islands.

We visited in January so the weather was warm but with a risk of rain, about 15/16 degrees, so jumpers and a waterproof were needed, but attractions/ museums, restaurants etc were quieter and it was comfortable to get around by walking, tram or Metro. The Metro was cheap and easy to use, so consider travelling to your hotel by Metro rather than a more expensive transfer. There is a very wide range of places to eat with all cultures and price brackets catered for. It is a shame that there is SO much graffiti EVERYWHERE which is a blight on an historic city. We paid extra for a guide around the Acropolis which was a good tip given to us. There are limited plaques and they give better context, but wear comfortable shoes as the ground is uneven to say the least!! I also recommend going to the Acropolis museum but it wasn't clear when it said audio guide included in the price/ free was actually just a download on your phone- so don't think you're getting something extra when it's free to everyone when they get in there.

Athens feels electric right now.

Athens feels electric right now. The city blends its ancient history with a sharp, modern edge—neighborhoods are full of hip young creatives, experimental galleries, and contemporary art spaces tucked between historic streets. There’s a constant sense of movement and reinvention, like the city is defining a new cultural identity in real time. It honestly feels like Athens is becoming the new Berlin—gritty, artistic, energetic, and full of ideas. If you’re into art, nightlife, and cities that feel culturally alive, Athens is absolutely worth experiencing.

First time in Greece and while others travellers (on a tour we took inland) complained endlessly of their hotels in Athens, we were able to express complete satisfaction with the Jason Inn. No, it's not the Hilton: the rooms are basic, the appointments nothing fancy, and (from our windows at least) there was no view. But the locations is great, the buffet breakfast is good (with an exceptional rooftop view), the rooms clean and the staff helpful. Most importantly, it represents great value for money. Would certainly stay there again.

My wife and I were on a 8 day trip to Greece with 4 nights spent in Athens. The Locals Apartment in Kolonaki suited our stay in Athens perfectly. It was conveniently located and was clean. A minute’s walk to the metro, walking distance to Syntagma Sq., the Plaka, museums and the upmarket coffees shops and restaurants of Kolonaki. Would I stay there again? Yes absolutely. It was extremely well located and represented excellent value for money.

New hotel. Great look. Staff were amazing. The rooms are beautiful. Love the large shower compared with standard Greece sized showers. Comfortable bed & pillows. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Ample choice of hot & cold selections. Coffee was very good too. Great location. Walking distance to Plaka. Small convenience store nearby. 50 metres from metro. Would definitely return.

Aris and his team are without doubt the friendliest and most hospitable Hotel operators I have ever met. It felt like home. They greeted us with warmth at all times of the day and were always on hand to share recommendations for Athens and wider around Greece, or to simply chat and enjoy a drink at reception. We met other travellers and enjoyed our stay immeasurably.
