Lots to do in san Martin!
Lots to do in san Martin! Fish swim hike bike play golf ( we played Golf ) and hiked but I go to fish also every year! Great food in town and San Martin is a very clean town which is not always the car win South America!

It has a great story how the valley was created many years ago after a glacier carved the mountains and melted after the ice age. Beautiful town, many things to see.
Beautiful town, many things to see. Great panoramic views of the lakes on the road from Villa La Angostura to San Martin de Los Andes. Only two buses a day between those two towns. Lake trip pricey (US$50). Many surrounding places to explore. Great stores and restaurants, Very reasonable dinners and great offerings. Specialties are trout, venison and wild boar. I ate at Porthos, great value.

Lovely town (we liked it better than Bariloche).
Lovely town (we liked it better than Bariloche). Beautiful lakes including Lacar, Huechulafquen, Meliquina are easily accessible by car. Lanin National Park includes araucarias forest, and easy 2.5 km walk to the base of Lanin volcano (and climb to the peak for those with experience and equipment). We wished we'd had more days - we had to return to Bariloche to catch flight.anneUnited Kingdom
