The Breakfast Buffet was fresh with a huge selection of items. In addition the staff would ask if there's something else you wanted. Dinner was exquisite Traditional Austrian Kitchen! Wiener Schnitzel at its BEST. The Bartender made delightful cocktails and sitting outside in the evenings was a treat. I have found my mini getaway Spot.

This friendly and hospitable hotel enjoys a central location in the heart of Bregenz, only a few steps from the train station. Room we got is very spacious, bright and comfortable, like a studio. Hotel is close to everything. People are very nice. We got lake view room. It's partially blocked by a parking lot though. I think the view with hills are very beautiful too. I agree with other reviews that this is a good hotel to stay, location is very good.

Located in the center of Bregenz, Hotel Messmer is only 328 feet from Lake Constance and a 5-minute walk from the Festival Hall. It features a sauna and a sanarium. The location is great, the facilities in the room were great, awesome room design. Fabulous breakfast. The room exceeded my expectations. One of the very best and truly 4*. There was enough space, it was extremely clean, almost like new, the curtain blocks the light for a good sleep, it had an umbrella, shoehorn, plus a boiler with tea/instant coffee in the room. Only slippers would be missing, but overall, it exceeded my expectations.

Surprisingly enjoyable town, not too large, can easily walk around and train station convenient. The pier was a nice walk and a good spot to get an ice cream. Going up the Pfaenderbahn is a must, great views and a nice circular walk for burning off kids energy looking at alpine animals. We visited the Narrowest House in Europe (can just stand outside, so a quick sight), at Kirchstrasse 29. We also took the train to Dornbirn for the morning, it was well worth the trip on a Saturday morning for their market in the town centre. (It starts to close up between 12 & 1pm,, so get there early). Great spot to grab lunch and a beer.
Beautiful town, right on the water, with many nice restaurants and a nice casino. The train looks like a fantastic option as well as the boats for getting around. My wife and I plan to come back for a nice adult weekend!
A must for enjoying a city with beautiful surroundings: lakes, mountains. It has the most beautiful bike ride tour opportunities (Switzerland, Germany & Austria) and the most beautiful scenery with the city and the lake. Really charming. We did not really book a tour there, we just rented city bikes and started riding to Germany, manage to go to Friedrichshafen and back. You can stop as many times as you want and the weather was perfect, fresh but warm enough to dive into the lake :) The Pfändernbahn was definitely a highlight. You can take the cable car but we didn't realise (until we were there and paid for our two way cable car ride) we could have hiked all the way up and down. :) So, once we were up there, we hike all the way down and once we were in the city, we hiked back up :) And then we took our already booked cable car ride to the city. Fun, really :) It takes around 4 hours if you hike at a normal speed (slow would be 5 hours or longer). But it's a one day adventure. I really enjoyed it and afterwards you can go to a restaurant and enjoy a few extra sweets ;) Bregenz is lovely, charming and has character.
Bregenz is a wonderful historic town/city on Lake Constance. The entire town is picturesque and the lake front is a tourist paradise, safe walks, beautiful gardens and views, restaurants and lots of life. The town itself is traffic free and so relaxed and charming, with nice shops and great cafes and restaurants. There are good ferry and boat tours to other charming lake towns as well. The highlight of our stay was the cable car. The views were amazing and we chose to walk back down which was a great experience and taste of the culture. It was the nicest part of Austria for us and we could have had a better time if we had spent most of our holiday there.
We did two boat trips, one as far as Lindau where we spent an interesting afternoon. The other was a 2 hour trip on the lake which was very pleasant. We also went on the cable car. We were very lucky with bright sunshine every day so we saw Bregenz in its best condition I think. Walking along the lakeshore is very relaxing. My husband also hired a bike and cycled as far as Lindau. He loved that.
We arrived on the first rainy day after two weeks of sunshine. The cable car is great. Views would have been much better without the clouds and we would have enjoyed the walk more. I think Bregenz is probably a great place to be in summer or on bright winter days.
Bregenz
Luxus Penthouse represented Bregenz for me. Bregenz was a hidden gem, so was Luxus Penthouse . Our host was very helpful and accommodating. I do recommend watching the instructions video before arrival ( I couldn't do it but was needed 😜). The apartment is outstanding, modern, clean and very well equipped. Very close to the city center. The parking is secure and easy to park even big SUVs.
Bed was comfy. Shutters on the windows cut out light at night effectively. Lovely spacious shower - not cramped like hotel showers often are. Central location very handy for the main station, the cable car and the lake. The weekly farmers market was right outside the door. Breakfast was good too.
The restaurant was very good. Covered parking free of charge. Lovely staff, all very helpful. Natalie, at the reception desk, was extra nice to us and had a lot of suggestions to make regarding the surroundings and where to visit. We certainly recommend this hotel if you visit Bregenz.
Very good located in the old city of Bregenz. Easy access with car and walk distance to the lakefront and the center of the town. Very good size of the room, cleam , good bed, view on mountain. A very good real 3 star hotel. Faire price!
Far from the city center, in an industrial/ commercial not suitable for families, staff unpleasant and agressive. If you travel throughout Bregenz and have to overnight, then it’s ok but DO not spend holiday at this place.
Bregenz
Location and breakfast. It really is value for money during the Bregenz festival.
