Everything about this property is exceptional. We spent three weeks traveling around Australia and had many very good dinners in five-star restaurants. The meal we had at Beechwood house was truly the best we had anywhere during our trip. We stayed in a comfortable studio suite and the property is so very relaxing. I'm only sorry we didn't stay longer.

A beautiful Historical town, 30 minutes from Wodonga . So much to see and do . The Last street distillery ( highly recommend ) great for kids as they can have their own cordial tastings . Restaurant on site as well .Cellar doors . Cute cafes, The Famous Beechworth Honey Shop. Historical building tours , the jail and courthouse. We took a drive to the Woolshed Waterfalls . A very impressive location.

We stayed at Beechworth House on our road trip from Queensland down to Victoria, and it was the perfect peaceful stopover. The grounds are beautifully maintained, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere right from the moment you arrive. The suite was luxurious, with an incredibly comfortable bed, spotless (immaculate) cleanliness, and every amenity you could need in the room and throughout the property – to make the stay feel truly welcoming and thoughtful. One of the highlights was the lovely walks you can take straight from the accommodation, and it's just a 5-minute drive into the charming town of Beechworth. The owners were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. This place is easily in my top 3 accommodations ever, and we will definitely be returning to Beechworth House for a longer stay next time. An exceptional find – highly recommend!

We have visited this lovely town many times, the heritage buildings, lovely shopping and great eateries and pubs make it one of our favourite destinations for a short break. The surrounding area is also wonderful- wineries, charming small towns like Yak and Stanley, and lovely streetscape and old trees and lovely parks, plus Lake Sambell, it has it all!

Beechworth is a charming older town on the gold trail.

Beechworth is a charming older town on the gold trail. They’ve preserved so many of the heritage buildings with excellent signage explaining the history. There is a mix of welcoming pubs, quirky breweries and cute cafes. It’s well set up for visitors and locals alike. The countryside has outstanding natural beauty and residents take pride in presenting lovely homes and gardens. We enjoyed the Spring Gorge walk from our villa although the bridge is still closed from flood damage in May 2025. Woodshed Falls were also pretty even in the dry weather.

Beechworth is a fantastic immersive experience into the...

Beechworth is a fantastic immersive experience into the past. All the town, shops, buildings capture the essence of the past. It's easy to feel you're back in the 1800's. People are friendly and happy to chat. So much to do from strolling through the town centre to a walk around Lake Sambell. There are a number of wineries nearby. Visit Beechworth Honey, The Brewery right in town for a great meal and a huge variety of beers. Check out Last Street Brewery for an unforgettable experience tasting endless yummy cordials as well as alcoholic liqueurs. There's a cafe attached and lots more to peak your interest. Looking forward to a return visit so we can see more of Beechworth and the surrounding areas.

Recently refurbished and very well equipped. Had room overlooking trees and valley with veranda, coming off corridor that has hotel quality decor rather than motel style. Would happily stay again. A 16 or so minute flat walk into centre of Beechworth. Very friendly.

The location of this hotel is really good and in the heart of Beechworth. The heating in the room was good and electric blanket warmed the bed up nice. The linen was nice and clean and there was nothing really wrong with my room. I enjoyed my stay there.

My dealbreakers for hotels are bed comfort, shower pressure and cleanliness. This hotel excelled in all areas. On top of that it is beautifully styled with large rooms. Everything you could want really.
