There are many attractions. A careful traveler from Melbourne can visit all these attractions in a single day. We visited/did the following - 1. Bendigo Visitor Centre/Bendigo Post Office Gallery 2. Bendigo Art Gallery( 400m from visitor center) 2. Vintage Talking Tram Tour 3. Chinese Cultural attractions-garden, temple and golden dragon museum 4. Bendigo Joss House Temple ( it was closed) 5. The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion 6. Sacred Heart Cathedral 7. Bendigo pottery and antique shop If coming from Melbourn start with the great stupa as its on the way.
It is a big old gold rush town. Has a lot to offer. The art gallery is excellent with a lovely cafe out the back. Some good resteraunts and lots of pubs for a steak meal. Beautiful parks and surrounding countrysiide. I was surprised how good the garden centres were. Some great plants for sale and in particular fruit trees and roses.
great town for activities, food, entertainment, art gallery displays, night light festival in park, tram rides, gold mine tours, chinese history, plenty to see and do. Sandhurst Motor Inn was excellent value for money, clean and friendly staff, would recomend it to all travellers.
Very few cafes open on Monday, if you want the tourist dollar provide places to eat, Sunday night very few restaurants were open Do not visit Sunday/Monday are there are very few facilities open Beechworth bakery well worth the visit
This was my first visit and I was impressed with the wide range of facilities eg for sport, education etc. There were many lovely eating spots, including pubs, the Talking Tram was useful in giving a historical overview. We visited the Chinese museum as well as the magnificent Buddhist Stupa, a little way out of town.

Beautiful estate to stay at in bendigo. Trip was cut short due to covid but had a fantastic night there. Exceptional hosts with a warm, relaxing and luxurious stay. This place is a must stay if you’re visiting the area. Nothing like conventional hotels, has the vibe of a high end European luxury hotel. Beautiful rooms within the estate to sit around and enjoy the provided port while reading, relaxing and playing the piano. Everything from the linen to breakfast to toiletries is high end. Will be back!!
Bendigo
Very close to SJOG hospital where my husband needed to be at very early in the morning. Staff aware of situation and upgraded us to a larger room on the ground floor. Key left in a secure position leading to contact less check in. Tasty meal and drinks delivered from hotel across the round, Phone call from Mark in the morning after check out to check everything was ok, and that hospital procedure was a success. Will definitely stay here again.

We were exceptionally comfortable in this lovely house. The host had generously left lots of ice in the freezer and milk and TimTams in the fridge, and plenty of basic supplies and materials. We forgot to ask for the back gate key to bring the car in, but parking out front on the street was perfectly safe. Can thoroughly recommend this property and the Tyson's Reef Hotel 150 metres away for great pub food and service.
Very modern and friendly environment with a hipster charm that was more on the lines of a Melbourne upmarket hotel in a cool centre of the CBD rather than Bendigo. Impressed and pleased with the treatment there, as a couple of my staff are vegetarian and have food allergies, which were all addressed by the chef with us. Good place to have a meal and have some drinks as well as the accommodation.
Bendigo
Excellent location for us. Quiet area and a short walk to gardens, galleries and all that Bendigo has to offer. We put the car in the garage and walked everywhere. The property is well appointed and had everything we needed. The en-suite was spacious and the walk in robes great to keep cases etc out of the bedroom. Great place to relax after being out all day.
Bendigo
We loved the fact that this hotel had it's own bistro which meant we could just walk out our door and straight in to have dinner. The food was amazing as were all the staff at both the hotel and the bistro. We were a party of 10 and we all enjoyed our stay. We will definitely book here again if staying in Bendigo in the future.
