Located in Coles Bay, 6 miles from Wineglass Beach, Eagle Peaks at Freycinet has accommodations with free WiFi. All units include a fully equipped kitchen, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. Beautiful apartment with great facilities. Emily met us when we arrived - later than we thought and was a lovely host imparting local knowledge and pointing out sights to see. Loved the two nights we spent there and the fantastic breakfast provided.
Malting Lagoon Guest House is located in Coles Bay Tasmania, on the Freycinet Peninsula, the gateway to Wineglass Bay. Jen and mark were lovely hosts, our room was clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable and there was large communal space downstairs. The food and beverage options provided exceeded my expectations and there was the cutest doggie to pat when we got home.
Located in Coles Bay, Gumnut 2 has air-conditioned accommodations with a terrace and free WiFi. The property is 6 miles from Wineglass Beach. We loved everything about Gumnut 2. It is such a beautiful, cleverly designed building and had everything we needed. Our hosts we very helpful in providing a travel cot complete with sheet and cute doona and a highchair for our 9 month old granddaughter. We would definitely stay at Gumnut 2 again and would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends and family. Check in was simple and well explained.

Built in 1844, Schouten House B&B offers free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking. The boutique rooms feature a flat-screen TV and a refrigerator. Staying at Schouten House was a special treat and Jodie and Cameron couldn’t have been more accommodating. The Swansea shops, stores and restaurants were just a short walk away which was extremely convenient. We had all the privacy we needed yet Jodie and Cameron were always available if we needed anything. The room was fantastic and we had the most comfortable night’s sleep in over 4 weeks of traveling. The hot, made to order breakfast was excellent and it was hard not to eat too much of the specially made baked oats and homemade bread (complete with jam and marmalade) also provided. Our 2 nights in Swansea are forever a special memory due to this lovingly cared for beautiful house and its owners.
Limited restaurants, tried to have a drink at the tavern and could not find seating in the bar area and went to sit on some side seating in the dining room and were not allowed. It was also a bit rich to charge for dropping a hiker up to the beginning of the trek.
Must see / do 1) wineglass bay cruise - we saw pods of dolphins and had an amazing experience 2) sea kayaking at sunset - picked a great evening , no wind, clear skies, perfection 3) Geographe- BEST COFFEE IN TASMANIA!!! I’m from Hobart and it beats anything there. Their breakfast, pizzas and hospitality are second to none.
Wineglass Bay is recommended to visit. However, you need to prepare to walk up the hill. We saw the orange rocks in Bicheno, saved us driving to The Gardens. There are not many restaurants around there. Although the food are good but a bit pricey.
Amazing scenery, coves, beaches and islands. National park Permit access required ( easy to do online) . You need to be a walker /hiker to fully appreciate this peninsula. All walks were clearly marked and well maintained. Not a lot of choice for eating out, so self catering a better option. Only a tiny grocery shop onsite, so make sure you shop before accessing the peninsula.
The bays and beaches are scenic but ultimately it's just a beach. Worth a visit if you're in the area and paying a reasonable price for accommodation. Was not special enough for me to have spent $200/night to visit though! Not many good places to eat (they exist but are emote overpriced and/or have a very limited selection). Fuel up beforehand, the petrol is 10-15c dearer than in the city.
Wow if you enjoy the effort of walking into Tasmania's untouched beaches or climbing a mountain, walking a beach, hopping on a comfortable boat, then this is the place to go to get easy access to beautiful unspoiled scenery.

Spotlessly clean, amazing views and fabulous art. Very comfortable bed. We self-catered as wanted to relax and make the most of the views in to the evening. Would be a short drive to hotel restaurants but we didn’t use. Would highly recommend. We took the Wine Glass Bay cruise which was brilliant - saw dolphins, seals and birds with great catering on board and friendly staff. This house looks to us one of the best in Coles Bay. We loved it.

My partner and I stayed here as a romantic getaway and it did not disappoint! You feel right at home straight away in this pristine and impeccably styled accommodation with a perfect view over the bay and mountains. We were able to wander across to the bay to watch sunrise, and it was only a short drive away from Freycinet National Park which we were easily able to explore. Our hosts kindly arranged late check-out as well.

The apartment had a balcony overlooking the sea which was wonderful. It was close to Coles Bay which has a small supermarket, excellent coffee shop and pizza restaurant. It also has a lovely beach. Freycinet Park was just a little further drive too and was well worth the visit. Easy to find and key safe with clear instructions about how to get in. Overall well equiped. Clean and fresh decoration.

Very homely, spacious and clean. The house as sufficient warmer to keep us warm. Beautiful view of Coles Bay and within minutes to Freycinet National Park. There is a grocery store though it closes at 6pm, nevertheless it has enough stock of halal items for us to cook. The house has a good view of stars and moon too if we came out to the Verandah. All in all, it was a very enjoyable stay!

Linens were clean, bed was comfortable, living room heater worked well (underfloor heating in kitchen did not). Washer and dryer was a bonus. Parking right outside the front door is easy. One minute walk to the market. Coles Bay is good location for a couple days of hiking but not much else.

Greetings from staff were really great and when we wanted help they were around, but otherwise they left us to our own peace and quiet - lovely balance. Beautiful place to stay in this gorgeous part of Tasmania. Make sure you have a car to appreciate the area in its entirety.

The room was more like a cabin and not a typical hotel room. Enjoyed the scenery and ability to do a few easy nice walks from your room.
