Emu Bay is, hands down, one of the prettiest places to stay on the island. Convenient close to Kingscote and central to explore the island. Beach is absolutely beautiful and safe for little kids. Bonus is you can drive on the beach as well and we were rewarded with a visit of a pid of dolphins.

The two bedroom house that the 4 of us stayed in was well up to expectations. The hosts were a great couple and were most helpful. We spent 7 nights there and found ourselves busy most days. the island has a lot offer with a great variety of attractions. These included day trips to Flinders Chase National Park to see both Admiral's Arch and Remarkable Rocks. Another day was spent at Raptor Domain which included both the Birds of Prey show and the Venom & Retile show. This was followed by a visit to Seal bay. Stokes Bay with it's hidden entrance and a swim in the enclosed rock pool was also a highlight. We found driving anywhere around the island was not a problem even though a lot of travel was on well maintained dirt roads.

This could be one of the most beautiful bay on Kangaroo Island with several camping sites near the beach plus a range of beautiful holiday homes with bay view you can choose from. You can also drive down your 4WD to the shore to camp or enjoy the white sand and blue ocean, both local and tourists do that every morning but it is not packed and the beach is always so clean with clear water. Wonderful choice for camping or family relaxing together.

One of the prettiest Bays on the Island. Being off peak, it was very quiet and peaceful. We brought our own food and had some takeaway from Kingscote. We loved walking along the beach with our darling dog. We also enjoyed visiting the Lavender farm, which has a lovely cafe. We are a retired couple and loved every minute of our stay. Extra bonus! Penguins near the jetty!

Lovely little town..beautiful scenery, beaches. Positioned perfectly to go to either end of the island for so great site seeing. But sadly no general store/cafe, have to drive 20minutes to get supplies.

9kms of sweeping white sand with vehicle access to the beach. Excellent launch facilities if have own boat. Peaceful relaxing location and superb viewing of various shore birds, pelicans, wrens, (the noise of nightly fairy penguins under deck of our accommodation added a unique aspect to our visit!). Emu Bay Lavender is just down the road for fabulous scones - as well as range of products + factory tour. (Their lavender ice-cream is quite "moorish" too!). You are within 18kms of Kingscote for supermarket and cafes and brewery/KI Gin (you just have to pull in here and give your taste buds a treat!)/KI Wines are reasonably close whilst Bay of Shoals Wine (what a fabulous spot for a picnic or glass of wine overlooking the bay) is adjacent to the historic Reeves Point in Kingscote. Emu Bay ideally located for day trips along North Coast to Stokes Bay (and the iconic Rockpool Cafe), to Parndana and the Wildlife Rescue Centre, as well as American River and the Oyster Farm (who doesn't enjoy freshly shucked oysters and King George Whiting for lunch!!).
