Lovely cottage with beautiful ocean view and garden view! Super clean, well organised rooms and well equipped with facilities a family need for a comfortable holiday. Quiet location. Koalas and kangaroos live in this area. Easy to see them daily. Attentive and considerate hosts.

Despite being advised that there are no food eateries at Emu...

Despite being advised that there are no food eateries at Emu Bay we we both surprised and delighted to discover the Beach Bay pop up van was open. Tucked away in the shrub we enjoyed burgers and the best margaritas! Open 5 days a week.

Emu Bay holiday cabins were away from the tourist areas and set on a gently sloping hill affording distant views of the bay and beach. The sunsets and sunrises were lovely. The CD abundance were well equipped and with a variety of cooking options. Beds were comfortable and blinds provided privacy and light block outs. Water is scarce and we didn’t find a bucket for the shower so opted to have basin washes!

Wonderful views and great beach.

Wonderful views and great beach. We stayed for 3 nights on KI but wish we had chosen 4-5 days as there was so much to see and do. The island is long and it takes about one and a half hours to drive down to Admirals Arch and the Remarkable Rocks both of which are well worth visiting particularly on a sunny day. The wildlife centre and Seal Bay were amazing too. Couldn’t spend as much time as we would have liked in our resort. Kingscote was a lovely small town too with good shops.

It's a lovely beach! Post card quality all the way.

It's a lovely beach! Post card quality all the way. Only shame is people are allowed to drive on it, risking the precious wildlife and environment. No shops in Emu bay, but there is a small beachside cafe open select days/ times in summer. About 15mins drive from Kingscote.

We had a koala in one of the trees at the back of the house...

We had a koala in one of the trees at the back of the house and we were two feet away from it. You could have reached out and patted it, it was that close. If you looked carefully there were others around but none as close as this. Emu Bay is easy access to the other beaches, also Kingscote and Breweries and wineries as well as the lavender scones at the Lavender farm. They were huge, so was the pile of cream.

99% is to love….its near perfect.

99% is to love….its near perfect. Only drawback is that there is no supermarket/ shop nor any eateries. Closest facilities are at Kingscote so you need to stock up and also make sure you have fuel.
