Hat Head Holiday Park is located on the beachfront in Hat Head, a few steps from South Smoky Beach and a 19-minute walk from O'connors Beach. We loved this place. The riverside apartments were wonderful. I could sit on my verandah and watch my daughters playing in the sand on the banks of the inlet. We felt safe and the property exceeded our expectations. We wanted to extend our stay but even outside school holidays the demands for these cottages is high. I would love to stay here again and would definitely recommend this place to friends
Ammaboolah at Hat Head, a property with a garden, is located in Hat Head, 8.7 miles from Kinchela Creek, 10 miles from Fattorini Island, as well as 11 miles from Gladstone. The house was a great size, clean and comfy and great value. Will definitely consider a return visit.
Great location right across from the beach and a short walk to the patrolled beach area but unfortunately thats all the good things about the property. The whole house needed a good clean. There was about 6 months worth of dust on fans and there was only 2 ceiling fans in the place the rest were portable fans. Some of the lights were not working in the bedrooms and bathroom. The fridge and freezer smelt like off prawns and there was thick cobwebs in the corners of the room. A lot of the fly screens were broken on the windows or some windows did not have any fly screens which made it impossible to open windows with all the bugs. Some of the dining room chairs were broken with exposed screens which was dangerous. The bathroom door did not close unless you locked it and the shower screen was broken as well. The whole property needs a good upgrade and repairs completed.
Lovely crystal clear creek for kayaking. Close to the beach. Good fishing spots. Out of the cities and build up suburbs. Surrounded by farmland, rivers and the ocean. Very scenic. Not too far from other places like Crescent Heads, South West Rocks and Scotts Head.
We loved the cottage. It was simple but charming and neat. Great value for money and we loved that we could walk or ride our bikes just about anywhere. Beautiful part of the world and we would definitely stay here again.
A great place to escape and chill if you love being near the beach, even if you don't like going in the water. Have the option for tame beach walking or more robust rock scampering all within reach. Bush walking, water activities or straight out fishing are all here. Kempsey is about 30 min drive with shops and a lovely goose filled river side parkland. Plenty of little towns in between to stop and venture around. Recommend planning at least half a day of doing nothing to enjoy the time out.
Beautiful place for a relaxing holiday - very peaceful with a great family feel - it's a very safe neighbourhood, with beautiful beaches especially the lagoon area for the kids Lots to see if you want to cycle around, or go that bit further with the car and explore Not much in the way of amenities locally, so would recommend stopping in Coles (Kempsey) on the way to stock up. But if you do forget / run out of anything then there is a local store which has all the basics. Bowling club provides a basic menu but is high quality food and good sized portions. All up, it is a simply stunning part of the World!
It was raining on and off the week we were there. A visit to Gladstone,South West Rocks and Cresent Heads. Fishing in the Creek and walks on the Beach. The birdlife was prolific honeyeaters, rosellas, finches and more.
