Set 1.1 mi from SkyHigh Mount Dandenong, Mountain Lodge offers a garden, a terrace and air-conditioned accommodations with a balcony and free WiFi. The accommodations has a spa bath. After a short drive from Melbourne's CBD and a quick stop in at the infamous Miss Marple's, we arrived at the accommodation. We were greeted by a very friendly host who was immediately warm, kind and had a general aura of hospitality - this initial perception did not waiver throughout our stay. We entered the property to find an exquisitely presented area with a homely feel, and a gas fireplace heating the entire room, coupled with a beautiful fortified wine decanting and a kitchen stocked with snacks. We ventured upstairs to find an impeccably clean spa bath, with all the amenities we could wish for. There was a nice bottle of champers in a bucket of ice to greet us too. The bed was also (surprise surprise), incredibly comfy and beautifully arranged. Throughout our stay we were overwhelmed with the detail, cleanliness, comfort and general hospitality offered. Side note: The breakfast was absolutely awesome too! We can't wait to come back!
Montrose Barn House has 2, 2-story barn houses with large, open plan living areas downstairs and cozy attic-style bedrooms above with 2-person baths in the bedroom and adjoining private bathrooms. The host was amazing. House pristine. Really an absolute pleasure to stay there... the host was so helpful, super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Had the fire going for us before we even got there.

We got up early in the morning to watch the sunrise over Kalorama Park. It was magical, it was the start of a new year (1 January, 2021) and the weather was good. Sunrise was excellent. We drove to Olinda which was good for walking up and down the main street of the village, then onto Sassafras, which is a great little town.

Good for long hikes and walks in the woods and at parks. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing place with clean air and just being close to nature. A fun experience and adventure up the mountains; suitable for family trips, couples, friends, business or solo trips. Go down to SkyHigh for a visit it’s beautiful takes 1.5 hours to have a good look without going on the bush walk, they have beautiful views at sunset and great food, went to the sanctuary took about an hour to walk thru, amazing sculptures and gardens with a awesome history story being told. Olinda is a nice town friendly people and lots to look at. Good hot chocolate and coffee at the pie shop 🙂
I loved the company having spent 35 years finding her! I went to Healsville Sanctuary which I had had on my list for three years.I loved the trees but really I was only there to meet up with my friend .. I'm returning in January 2017 to this area so will have a more detailed look round then with my bestie guide !
Relaxing location, very scenic, we found a good resturant and very convenient for day trips. Road access is good, however be aware some of the roads are gravel and some of the local roads are single lane, steep and winding.
Bacon and eggs for breakfast, the spa was perfect, being able to feed the birds in the morning and the spectacular view !!
