This beautifully appointed Hideout suite, with its incredibly well thought out floor plan, comes with a small but complete kitchen, stacked washer/dryer, comfy sitting room with fire heater, table, chairs, and a carafe with a bit of Port in it to put a lovely finish on your day. Complete with a comfortable king bed, pillows and crisp linens, my husband and I could've stayed much longer had we not had other plans. It was an unexpected pleasure to arrive and find this new suite available for our use. Thank you, Gina, at the Blue Summit Hideaway!

Fantastic place if you like wildlife. Right in the heart of the rainforest we watched birds on the balcony eating chopped fruit, sugar gliders eating tree sap in the night viewing area and saw and heard various animals. Very comfortable and tranquil place.

A beautiful house in a beautiful, and very convenient, location. Excellent facilities; plenty of supplies in kitchen, modern air con, TV streaming services. Everything you could want for a relaxed and enjoyable stay. Host Gina, and her staff, always keen and ready to help. Definitely coming back!

What a special place to stay! Arriving to the property, we drove though many kilometers of cleared cow pastures. This had me wondering what we would find upon arrival. When we made it to the property, we were happily surprised. This is a truly amazing piece of forest that has been saved from logging, and that alone makes it worth visiting. The rooms were private and quiet, with beautiful views and amazing wildlife. During our short (2-night) stay, we saw many bush turkeys, coppery brushtail possums, pademelons, and most importantly, a platypus. I am not sure if we saw the same platypus, but we had three sightings during our stay. Traveling to the northern platypus pool, we were able to see it at dawn and at dusk. What was even more surprising, was to see a platypus swim in front of our cabin while we were having a late lunch. To be honest, we booked here just because we wanted higher odds of seeing a platypus, but found it to be so much more. My wife absolutely loved the pademelons and the bird life. I am an amateur wildlife photographer and had no shortage of opportunities for amazing shots. The owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome. I would definitely recommend visiting! One thing to mention, if you are the type who likes sterile, luxury resorts where the staff avery their eyes when passing by, then this is not the place for you. This place is wild and you will be up close with the wildlife, the forest leeches, and snakes. To me, this place was paradise and should not be missed.

We used Malanda as a base to explore the Tablelands.

We used Malanda as a base to explore the Tablelands. We made day trips to Atherton, Yungaburra and Lake Tinaroo and dam, Herberton and Ravenshoe and Lake Eacham, Millaa Millaa and Malanda falls. There is a lot to see and do in the area - it certainly kept us busy for the three days we stayed there.

I recently stayed in a motel room and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The room itself was beautiful—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. What really stood out, though, were the stunning grounds surrounding the property. The landscaping was well-maintained, creating a peaceful and inviting. Whether relaxing outside or simply enjoying the view from my window, the natural beauty of the surroundings added so much to the overall experience. I would definitely stayi here again should we ever be back in the area

Best as a quiet base for touring the Tablelands. Vidit the information centre by Malanda Falls. Staff are really helpful and informative. Dined out once while there at the Big Pub. Service not great and food just ok.

A wonderfully set up and cosy room for 2 nights.

A wonderfully set up and cosy room for 2 nights. It had everything you could need. Immaculately clean and great off street parking. Very private and a lovely view overlooking the extensive gardens and acreage. The free included continental breakfast was great. The lodge is only 5 mins drive into town. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer. If the weather had been kinder, we would have made use of the great looking garden pool. I have to mention the really friendly staff.

Nice place to stay.

Nice place to stay. Malanda hotel in town served reasonable home cooked meals. Malanda also has Malanda Cafe and also service station across from the pub is open for food 24 hours a day and they serve really good coffee.

We ate at the Malanda pub; a good pub meal in a beautiful old building. We stopped and looked through the Malanda Dairy Centre which is getting a bit run down but had interesting historical information about the local area and was worth a look. The Lions monthly markets were on; a great place for local fruit and vegetables and other local treats. Nerada Tea Centre is worth a visit and if you are lucky, you might even see a tree kangaroo.
