Many families visiting Orange loved staying at Byng Street Boutique Hotel, The Remington Orange, and Town Square Motel.
We stayed two nights as part of a road trip and it rained heavily for most of it. We still had a great day at the local art gallery, museum and library, which were all in the same complex. All 3 were very kid friendly, with activities to participate in for our 6 & 11 year olds. The day we were due to leave was dry so we visited the botanical gardens and the adventure playground nearby. Again, we enjoyed both. It's a shame we visited on the one day (Monday) that the cafe was closed as we would loved to have popped in for some hot drinks and cakes.
Sometimes after travelling & exploring all day, it would be nice to find a cafe still open for a coffee & mid afternoon cake, having brunch about 10.30am, a coffee around 3.30pm is impossible to find, except disappointingly only for maccas not the country vibe I had in mind. However, Orange certainly has something for everyone, it’s charming tree lined wide streets, fairy lit main drag at night, with scenic rolling hills, valleys & country byways to meander along.
Orange is an interesting place. The streets are wide and the architecture is very Australian. Orange has a fabulous Regional Art Gallery and a vibrant art scene. There are many great places to eat and the wineries are world renown.
Orange is a medium sized city in the Central West of NSW, about a 4-5 hour drive from Sydney. It is a highly respected wine growing region and there a a number of wonderful cellar doors and bottle shops to visit. It can be cool to cold in winter and quite warm in summer, so travel during the shoulder seasons if you don't appreciate weather extremes.
Orange is beautiful in Autumn as the leaves change in a blaze of red, orange and yellow. The cool climate wines are excellent with many vineyards and cellar doors to visit. The Tourist Information Centre is a wealth of information, make that your first stop. There are good restaurants and pubs with excellent food and beautiful driving roads around Milthorpe, Molong and Eugowra. Do your research and enjoy what the central west has to offer.
Orange is a lovely region we enjoyed doing the things that interested us, it is a very pretty town and easy to get around. Cook park was wonderful however the three days of rain slowed down some other planned activities, The Autumn Colour in the streets was spectacular. It was Great to catch a movie at the lovely Odeon Theatre.
LOVED the fact that there was no ventilation in the room and it was boiling. LOVED the fact there was bugs crawling over my towels when I walked in the room. LOVED the fact that I called 8 times to find the check in spot only to find it myself 45 minutes later and when I asked the receptionist why they didn’t answer at all his response was ‘oh I thought it was somebody else’. Absolutely ridiculous service and was appalled by the actions of the staff.
This newly opened hotel impressed on many levels. The staff are friendly and service-oriented. The room was spacious, despite having no two large beds. The beds were super comfy. Soundproofing was excellent. The hotel’s restaurant Whitney’s was a surprise find. Both dinner and breakfast were great, even though the hotel was fully booked and the restaurant super-busy. Would go back in a flash. And Orange remains my favourite country town in NSW.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Melview Greens! The property was beautiful! The staff were friendly and welcoming and answered any questions we had from dinner recommendations to places to visit. The apartments were clean, tidy and comfortable as well as well stocked with kitchen goods if we decided to cook for ourselves. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The Mecure Orange was a delight. The rooms were very clean, spacious and the hotel was well situated. It was only a short stay (would like longer, but next time). The beds were very comfy, the shower was great as it felt like you were showering in the rain. It was great after a very big day of going cross country. I very much would love to visit again.
I booked this property the night before on the internet as we had to re-route for the NSW bush fires. We stayed in a deluxe double room with 1Q and 1S bed....the room was large and modern.....the television was a good size.....the beds were really cosy.....and no traffic noise.....so we had a good night's sleep.... :)

Towac Valley Cabins turned out to be a great choice. The cabin was beautifully located, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. My wife and I were so impressed with both Towac and the district of Orange that we can't wait to get back for another visit and explore some more.
Stylish, comfortable, well located, friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast - one of the best small hotels we've experienced anywhere and from now on our #1 choice in Orange. Lovely late 19th century building cleverly restored and reimagined.
+The location is in the heart of the orange CBD, close to everywhere +when the reception was closed, the restaurant staff went above and beyond and jumped in to help + the hotel car park is very handy to use, just in front the room
Orange
Nice and cosy room with all the amenities that you would expect. It is in a working winery but all the staff were extremely friendly and willing to chat and answer any questions. The wine is also very good.

This is a wonderful tranquil oasis set in the vineyards. With a comfortable room with heated floors, TV and DVDs, and spa bath looking out on to a beautiful landscape and nothing to disturb us other than birdsong, we wanted to stay forever. There was a bottle of local wine and a bowl of delicious local cherries awaiting us on arrival so we felt very welcome, and brekkie was provided. A short drive to some beautiful bushwalks and an easy drive into Orange for shops, restaurants and cafes. Absolute peace and quiet in a stunning setting.
