Paynesville is a beautiful township by the water with plenty of good variety of eating places. It's well worth taking a water taxi ride to Raymond Island (no vehicle needed) to check out the koalas. A beautiful tranquil place. We saw 7 koalas.

We absolutely loved our stay in Paynesville!
We absolutely loved our stay in Paynesville! It’s such a peaceful and beautiful spot — calm water views, fresh air, and the most relaxing vibe. We enjoyed every minute walking by the waterfront and watching the sunset from our apartment. The town is quiet, friendly, and has everything you need for a perfect getaway. Definitely wish we could’ve stayed longer! Can’t wait to come back again soon.

Paynesville is a beautiful place to visit with a marina, close proximity to Gippsland lakes, rivers and towns. It has good restaurants, cafes and bakeries and also a well stocked supermarket to cater for families. It's also a boating and fishing heaven.

Great walks to see birds and kangaroos in the wild.
Great walks to see birds and kangaroos in the wild. Raymond Island is worth more than one visit. Look at koalas and take the flora walk. The ferry is free for walk ons.
A great base for day trips to Bainsdale and the hot Springs at Metung. (Book at peak holiday times)visit the pretty town at Metung too.

Paynesville will appeal to those looking to slow down and enjoy nature. Nestled in the Gippsland lakes, the town offers many trails, long days on the water and scenic sun sets.. The Sunday markets are great! IGA stocks all you need ….

A relaxing destination with lovely views lovely restaurants and a wonderful cafe I enjoyed called Ginnys .Beautiful Raymond Island is a 3-minute Ferry Ride away to an island full of beautiful walking tracks, views and native Australian animals. Highly recommend Paynesville for a quiet destination to visit with gorgeous Gippsland Lake views.

It was so refreshing to arrive at Paynesville Holiday Park and feel as if you were actually driving into what the 'brochure / website' presented. No false advertising, what you saw in the advertisements is what you got !
It is commendable upon the management /staff who set an example of some old fashioned values and service reflected in both the presentation and upkeep of this immaculate Holiday Park. The special little added touches do not go unnoticed.

Comfortable, spacious and well appointed unit in beautiful Paynesville. Large lounge/dining area and outdoor, covered deck. Plenty of pots and utensils along with a clean electric BBQ. Appreciate the easy keypad entry and no need for manager contact upon arrival or departure.
Communication from the management prior to arrival was of the highest quality.

The location was fantastic. A very short walk to the Hotel for dinner and across the road was the market. Close to everything. Having sliding door access to beautifully manicured gardens and the canal was breathtaking. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The location was superb, could not be better. But, it was a long way from Paynesville. Very quiet, plenty of space (acres of it) between ‘lodges’. Visitors need to be totally self sufficient, (but kitchen facilities excellent). Would stay again if travelling in that area.
