New ZealandProperty was incredible!!! The ladies the run the place helped us with the ferry situation and even gave us some soup since we arrived late. We are so so grateful, they have made our experience so special!!! The rooms were very nice, showers and bathroom were perfect. Kangaroos spotted outside!! Koala walk we saw 15 koalas!! Do stay on this island, it is so peaceful and will leave you feeling so much gratitude!

It's a quiet peaceful place to stay with lots of water...
It's a quiet peaceful place to stay with lots of water activities available. Stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, boating, biking, gentle walks in the bush, close up viewing of wildlife are all within reach. The town centre is small but has a selection of restaurants. Most are open until around 8pm. There is a free ferry for people and their bikes to take you across the water to Raymond Island. It's a 4 minute trip and sets you down on the island where you can take a stroll through bushland. There are so many koalas living in the trees, strolling around on the ground, as well as kangaroos and lots of birdlife. We stayed at Captain's Cove apartments which I can highly recommend. Most of them backed onto canals so you could literally walk out your back door and be on the boardwalk. We hired kayaks and launched them off the jetty metres from our back door and paddled around the canals and onto the lake for 2 hours. Spectacular views, sunrises and sunsets. It was a really restful and fun getaway.

Paynesville is a beautiful township by the water with plenty of good variety of eating places. It's well worth taking a water taxi ride to Raymond Island (no vehicle needed) to check out the koalas. A beautiful tranquil place. We saw 7 koalas.

We absolutely loved our stay in Paynesville!
We absolutely loved our stay in Paynesville! It’s such a peaceful and beautiful spot — calm water views, fresh air, and the most relaxing vibe. We enjoyed every minute walking by the waterfront and watching the sunset from our apartment. The town is quiet, friendly, and has everything you need for a perfect getaway. Definitely wish we could’ve stayed longer! Can’t wait to come back again soon.

Paynesville is a beautiful place to visit with a marina, close proximity to Gippsland lakes, rivers and towns. It has good restaurants, cafes and bakeries and also a well stocked supermarket to cater for families. It's also a boating and fishing heaven.

Great walks to see birds and kangaroos in the wild. Raymond Island is worth more than one visit. Look at koalas and take the flora walk. The ferry is free for walk ons.
A great base for day trips to Bainsdale and the hot Springs at Metung. (Book at peak holiday times)visit the pretty town at Metung too.

It was so refreshing to arrive at Paynesville Holiday Park and feel as if you were actually driving into what the 'brochure / website' presented. No false advertising, what you saw in the advertisements is what you got !
It is commendable upon the management /staff who set an example of some old fashioned values and service reflected in both the presentation and upkeep of this immaculate Holiday Park. The special little added touches do not go unnoticed.

Comfortable, spacious and well appointed unit in beautiful Paynesville. Large lounge/dining area and outdoor, covered deck. Plenty of pots and utensils along with a clean electric BBQ. Appreciate the easy keypad entry and no need for manager contact upon arrival or departure.
Communication from the management prior to arrival was of the highest quality.

The apartment was clean, welcoming, was a good size and with great amenities both in the apartment and onsite. The location is a few mins walk to Paynesville centre. Would definitely recommend and come back to stay here!
