Hospitality Port Hedland overlooks the Indian Ocean and is located 1.9 mi from the town center. It offers free Wi-Fi and is just a 2-minute stroll from the beach. The staff were lovely. They agreed to change our travel dates then upgraded us to allow our family if 4 to have rooms together. The cherry on the cake was free laundry facilities (3 washers and 2 dryers). After a very dusty trip to Karijini the laundry was awesome. We stayed in another place in south port Hedland before going into Karijini and the cost to wash and dry one load was $10.

The girls on reception were very welcoming and helpful when we checked into the hotel. What a gorgeous team and very efficient. Our room was clean and reasonable. It was also quiet which is a big plus for me. It was good. We did do a drive whilst in Port Hedland past the Ibis which I was contemplating staying at and was soooo relieved we chose The Esplanade. Stay at The Esplanade people. It’s 1000 times better than the Ibis. We dined at the restaurant for dinner. Our food was sensational! Presentation and taste was fantastic and we dine out in Perth all the time. Whomever your chef is please keep him/her. We both had the rankin cod with a sambal curry sauce served with green beans and then a salad with goats cheese etc and that too was delicious. The outdoor setting was lovely too at night time with a string of outdoor lights and candles for ambience plus a great playlist of mixed songs old and new. Breakfast was a banquet and good. Sufficient! I had nothing negative to say about your hotel, and this would be my choice for sure if ever in Port Hedland. By the way, your bar staff were so efficient and well trained too. Cool modern enjoyable bar area which also make a great coffee. The hotel was within walking distance to the cbd. A 1-2 minute walk and you are there.
Everything I read about Port Hedland made it sound dreary and dusty, but it is a great little place for a day or two of R and R on a journey. I actually found that watching the great ships enter and leave the harbour was fascinating, especially from upstairs at the Dome Restaurant. Interesting little museum, great place to swim at Pretty Pools, tours of iron works and docks if you want. Friendly people.
The Dome and the Yacht Club for eating was great, Port Hedland is an experience if i had a choice probably wouldnt visit however, i was there for family reasons and had a great week. It is easy to get around roads are good and no traffic.
We were on a road trip to Broome from Perth, so just needed a bed for the night. We arrived mid-afternoon to find that the township was very quiet, and most places of interest, e.g. museum were closed or not open that day - a Monday.
A town sporadically planned around the needs of the port. Huge potential not realised given the beautiful coastline. A place to stop over on the way to somewhere else but probably not to stay in for longer than needed.
Port Hedland is a mining town so not a lot to do South Hedland 18km away has Better shops etc Pilbara is a great area to explore Restaurant at the Hospitality Inn Port Hedland is great and would recommend it

Hedland hotel is located close to shops, has a beautiful buffet breakfast and onsite restaurant. Staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Considering how busy and expensive accommodation in Port Hedland is this was a reasonable rate.
