Location ok. No breakfast it was closed. Door had gap at the bottom. TV poor quality. Clock didn't work. Had to plug in electric blanket ourselves. Bathroom had been updated but cheaply. Cheap international roast coffee
SAM and Elsewhere cafe, walk around the lake. Botanic gardens.
Recommend visit Move museum, 5km from town, large collection of many forms of transport throughout Australia’s history and 10,000 costumes donated from a private collection tracing that history too. Something for everyone, all beautifully displayed.
Next door is a huge antiques barn for a trip down memory lane.

Shepparton was a pleasant surprise, we enjoyed our stay, great cafes, restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions to fill your days with. Lovely smaller towns within a 30minute drive to add to the local attractions. SAM (Shep Arts Museum well worth a visit). Absolutely loved the art cows around the township, especially the park that has around 20 in one spot. More than anything we enjoyed the friendliness of the local service people, how refreshing to find a tourist friendly town.

Had bad experiences with eating out. Best meals were from kebab chain. Went to Shepparton for granddaughter's hockey tournament and were surprised by the high quality of the facilities. Also, drove around parts of the silo art trail and enjoyed the art work.

There were lots of things to do with the family.
There were lots of things to do with the family. We went to the Car Museum, which was amazing. Saw a movie and went 10-pin bowling. The bowling alley was one of those old styles, like what I grew up with as a kid.
Went to the SPC factory, make sure you have plenty of room in the boot of your car, you are going home with lots of bargains.
We were there to play in a tennis tournament but when we were not playing we found heaps to do. The local wineries such as Tabilik and Mitchelton are a great day trip if you enjoy a little tasting.
Could have stayed a few more days and done a lot more.

Shepperton is a beautiful town with plenty to see but not staying at the Home Country Inn. Good meals at the Peppermill, at Aussie, lovely lakes and the town is very interesting with quaint buildings and modern.

The property was well located, about a 10 minute walk from the main shops and cafes in Shepparton. As one of the cheapest offerings in the area I felt like we got value for money. The bed was comfortable, and the electric blanket made up for the lack of a doona. The pool area looked nice (even though it was too cold for us to think about testing it out). We were running late for check-in and the owners made it easy for us to get the keys.
