Only 2461 feet from the Port Arthur Historical Site via a private gate, these spacious self-contained villas features satellite TV, reverse-cycle air conditioning, and tea/coffee making facilities. The lady owner is very kind & very helpful in all expects. We have booked 2 units of two bed room apartments for 2 couples & 4 single men. The type of the unit that we booked were 2 bed rooms which room have 1 queenbed, when the lady found out that we have 4 single men, she gave us extra studio apartment without additional charge, so 4 single men did not have to share the bed. She also gave us very useful informations of the historic site & surrounding area. The properties had verything we needed, we were happy & grateful.
Located in Port Arthur, Port Arthur Motor Inn has a garden and free WiFi. Located around an 8-minute walk from Port Arthur, the motel is also 25 miles away from Dunalley. We meet wild kangaroos and saw galaxy the first time. It's exciting.
Located on the waterfront amid natural landscape, the Fox and Hounds Inn is a 1-minute drive from Port Arthur Historic Site and a 15-minute drive from Fortescue Bay. This property was absolutely amazing. The most stunning water views from our room. The inn had the most amazing food and a fire place inside. Our favourite feature was the camp fire outside the inn where we could enjoy a drink next to the fire. Everything was just perfect :-)
White Beach is about 10km outside of Port Arthur and having a car is essential. The beach is great and swimming there (in January) was bracing but invigorating. Don’t expect lots of facilities or services in White Beach or the wider area.
White Beach is just a small town with a beautiful beach, but it's the perfect spot for your stay on the Tasmanian Peninsula. You can easily make daytrips from there and see everything in a few days. I can highly recommend staying at the Storm Bay Guest House on top of the hill (amazing views and lovely hosts). Def go to the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo to see the devils in action. They also have several other animals and some activities with them. Opposite of the unzoo is the federation chocolate factory with very delicious chocolate.. (buy yourself the strawberry chocolate.. so delicious!). Go for lunch to the Port Artur Lavender Farm. Drinks and food with a touch of lavender. Very tasty and they also have a shop where you can buy all lavender related stuff. In Salwater River you can visit the Coal Mine Historic Site. Very intersting. One of the biggest highlights is def the remarkable cave with a view on Cape Raoul. Turquoise water with high cliffs.. the pics you can take there are worth being on a postcard!! Paradise :-)) At Eaglehawk Neck you can see the blowhole (not that special) and the Tasman Arch (gorgeous). Also go for a little 20 min return walk at Devils Kitchen. And ofcourse you can spend a whole day at the Port Arthur Historic Site incl. the boattrip. I would suggest planning a 3 or 4 days to see everything at the peninsula.
The hosts were very helpful with instructions on where to eat in Nubeena which is about 5 mins drive away. I loved that we could sit on the common deck and watch the wildlife feed. A platter was supplied for our cheese and nibbles for dinner one night. The bakery in Nubeena does a great pizza, however they close promptly at 7pm.

A lovely location- open the back door at Harpers and you’re just a few steps to lovely White Beach. Port Arthur is a pleasant drive down the road. Added bonus was very comfy bed (in the modern studio). Lovely hosts.
