Didn't see much of town as I was involved elsewhere, but it had some bistros and restaurants. It was a clean and tidy place, parking was good near the hotel. A good base to tour north-west Belgium. Very close to main roads.

A lovely town with a charming village square surrounded by several cafés and restaurants. The Delhaize supermarket is also open on Sundays, but very expensive. The fresh strawberries from the Van Poucke strawberry vending machine are highly recommended.

Free parking right outside the door, and you can take the train to Bruges and Ghent. Delicious food at several restaurants around the corner and a cozy bar in the hotel. Breakfast was also delicious. We were there in July, and the air conditioning in the room was wonderful.

The accommodation is very functional, although, as is often the case, since there's no closet, shelves or stools to put suitcases on would be helpful. Cleanliness is lacking. The location is convenient for visiting the surrounding cities and very quiet.

The chip shop at the motorway roundabout is very good, and at the other end of the village there's a very inconspicuous but perfectly stocked supermarket. Otherwise, we only used Aalter as a base for day trips.

Our stay at the International House Aalter was fantastic! The breakfast was delicious and themed(Easter). We particularly appreciated the coffee machine and the ability to make tea. The room was extremely clean and well-designed, and the House was quiet and peaceful. The owners are polite and friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences we've had in a long time, and we left feeling happy and satisfied

Geert and his wife were perfect hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Aalter, it’s a perfect place for exploring Ghent, Brugge and the surrounding area. It’s a quaint place, with comfortable and large rooms and bathroom and a fantastic looking garden. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and we appreciated the opportunity to check-in early.
