GreeceExcellent and inexpensive stay for attending the nearby Sanicole Airshow, when everything else was fully booked. Small single room, BUT had everything necessary for an one night sleep. Very COMFORTABLE bed, great (medium-soft) mattress and high quality pillow, clean room, fresh-air from the garden, high pressure hot water in the shower, charging ports next to bed, "black-out" curtain if you didn't want to wake up by morning light.
The buffet breakfast was outstanding and justified the price. Huge ham and cheese variety, freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs and crispy bacon, fresh fruits and yoghurt(s) ... and frequent replenishment as soon as something run-out. Both the cappuccino and the filtered coffee were excellent.
Free parking and plenty of spaces. I didn't have to worry at all, upon my late night return as I easily parked in the front yard of the hotel.
Last but not least, very friendly and efficient check-in / check-out = 10/10 all the way!

GermanyThe best place to stay in Diest and a fantastic place to stay in Flemish Brabant in general. High standards, from the room to breakfast, and great hospitality by the hosts that make you feel right at home.
Rooms: spacious room, very tastefully done with a large, confy bed and confy bedding, very high standard bathroom with a mirror all the way up to the ceiling, air-con, blinds on all windows including the skylight, built-in wardrobe with enough hangers and a (very stylish) separate bathroom. The TV can be moved around in the room freely.
Hotel facilities: both rooms are adjacent to a veranda and the garden, both very cozy and inviting. Ideal to work there (solid WiFi and plugs nearby), also due to the adjacent kitchen with free coffee and tea. Every room also comes with a fridge in the kitchen where you can buy drinks for cheap (minibar equivalent).
Location: very central in Diest, everything nearby from shopping, supermarket to various parks. Swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts also nearby. Everything is walkable. Multiple good restaurants are also within walking distance. Parking is also not a problem.
Breakfast: a very special breakfast made with great attention to detail and served at the table every day. Nothing to be desired, from fresh smoothies and orange juice to good coffee, artisan cheeses, fresh fruits, changing joghurts, a large variety of breads and baked goods. They also served fresh egg dishes/breakfast eggs according to your preference (every day). It doesn't get better than that!
The best part: the increadibly hospitable hosts, Annick and Jeroen! Thanks for having us.

GermanyI spent six nights here and had a wonderful experience. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home from the start. The hostess was particularly helpful, giving me some excellent advice on the best places to visit in Diest and the surrounding area, which really helped me make the most of my trip.
My room was great, very modern interior and an exceptionally comfortable bed. I really appreciated the huge variety of tea and coffee provided in the room, and getting to try the local beer from Diest was a lovely touch!
One highlight has to be the breakfast; it was phenomenal. Each morning brought a different surprise, with everything from pancakes and bacon to a great selection of cheeses. Also, meeting their three dogs and two cats was wonderful. They were so friendly and incredibly quiet. It was the perfect, relaxing base for my week.

My family stayed in Diest for one night attending a music...
My family stayed in Diest for one night attending a music festival in Werchter the following day.
England were playing DR congo in the world cup ,and we watched as the only 3 England fans watching on the big screen in the lovely town square.
Belgium were playing later and The locals were very welcoming .couple of older gents in one of the busy bars chatted with us like old friends'helping sort out our travel plans saving us an hour and a few quid!

Diest very clean and lively, there was a music festival...
Diest very clean and lively, there was a music festival meaning many streets were closed to traffic. Did not see eberything due to the 33+ heat! Nicky Catwalk Resturant for Ribs and Steaks, "t Wafelhuisje for waffles. Very easy to walk around. Although many streets cobbled. Up hill to Citadel was hard in the 35 degree heat.

Diest is really understated.
Diest is really understated. There are some lovely historic parts of the town to explore, the Grand Place has some very good restaurants and it's surrounded by beautiful countryside. It's a very calm, peaceful place to visit. Our favourite restaurant was Nicky's Catwalk in the Grand Place.

Diest is a charming small town in Belgium that offers everything a family could need. During our 8-day stay, we enjoyed the beautiful old town, filled with cozy cafés, restaurants, and pubs, as well as lovely local stores alongside major brands. The town is surrounded by clean air and lush greenery, making it a refreshing place to relax. Halve Maan Park was a highlight, with its outdoor pool and sand beach, perfect for family fun. The park also offers golf, children’s playgrounds, and free access to most areas, including parking in the nearby forest.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Diest is the Beguinage, a UNESCO-protected site dating back to the 13th century. The history of these communities, founded by single women who supported and protected each other, is truly inspiring. Diest's excellent location also makes it a convenient base for exploring other cities, with a train station that connects directly to the heart of Brussels. The people of Diest are incredibly polite, welcoming, and laid-back, which made our experience even more enjoyable.

I arrived at 10pm - not a problem, the host/receptionist was on hand to give me the key and explain how to operate the front door out-of-hours.
The room was clean, quiet, with en-suite shower/toilet and even a fridge. Top marks for value!
Plenty of off-street parking, right in front of the hotel.
