We had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Guzi in Belgium! We were there during Tomorrowland, and everything was just perfect. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked great, and the hotel staff were always kind and helpful. The owner of the hotel personally assisted us with all our questions and was incredibly nice throughout our stay. The location is excellent — right in the center of the lovely town of Lier, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops. We truly enjoyed our time there and I would be more than happy to return! Highly recommended.

Honestly one of the best hotels I have stayed in anywhere - and I have stayed at some of the very best. Great for both a vacation/holiday and to work. Each room is unique - it is worth phoning/emailing the hotel for advice for which room to allocate you to. My preference is the garden facing rooms - but the canal/city/"cathedral" view is lovely if you don't mind the noise and there are blackout curtains. The hotel is part of a very old building with enormous exposed beams - amazing (and very clean) floors, bathrooms and beds. But also wonderful desks, chairs and screens (bring an HDMI cable and adaptor) - perfect to get a lot of work done from a laptop if you are a remote worker. The staff are amazing - front desk, cleaning/housekeeping staff, and waiters/kitchen for the world class breakfast and Sunday lunches. From the website "Hof van Aragon is a real family business and is part of the Rastelli Group, which with more than a century of experience and guarantees a hospitable and well-cared-for stay with, above all, personal service". The hotel is made up essentially of two buildings on an L shape around a beautiful garden - the breakfast/lunch rooms and event rooms are in a lovely but separate part of the hotel, not sharing an entrance with the front desk and hotel rooms itself, which around the corner on a different street. The rooms themselves are well protected from a security perspective, which is a nice touch for a sole traveler. The hotel is in a beautiful location for the history and walkability of Lier and its restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Lier is an interesting town, with great buses (street level step on) and trains (difficult to climb on) to Antwerp and Brussels, as well as Uber, which works with a bit of time and effort.

Lier is a hidden gem; it is a very pretty city with plenty...

Lier is a hidden gem; it is a very pretty city with plenty of bars and restaurants. There are some good local attractions (Zimmer tower, The Beguinage, and St Gommarus Chruch with its Gothic architecture) you can also have a lovely walk down the river that runs through the heart of the city. It's only a short train ride from Antwerp and about a 50-minute train journey from Brussels.

Lier is a lovely town, the streets are clean and quiet.

Lier is a lovely town, the streets are clean and quiet. There is a lot of history here and the canals and waterways are very beautidul. There is something for everyone, the town square is surrounded by good restaurants, the buildings are interesting and full of history. If you like walking or cycling there are plenty of well marked trails and an abundance of wildlife in the rivers and canals. You can take a boat trip in the old flat bottomed eel boatsand the guides are very knowledgable and interesting. There are good transport links witht he station being on the edge of town, just a 15 minute walk into the centre. The town Hall is a beautiful building. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We will be coming back.

Lier is a very pretty town with an interesting history and...

Lier is a very pretty town with an interesting history and it is only a 20 minute train ride away from Antwerp. It is easy to walk between the various sites like the town hall and the beginnage and the Great Church. There was a small museum near to my hotel with some history and art related to the town that I also thought was interesting. The town arose because of the river around it which still flows through and is very pretty

A really beautiful little town, lots of lovely walks, superb and historic architecture. Shops, cafes and restaurants with friendly and welcoming residents. Plenty of public transport, buses, trains and taxis to take you around the region or in to the cities. Very bicycle friendly if that is what you prefer.

A small, beautiful town, and thanks to its ramparts, it evokes a true sense of "historical center." While there are no major historical facts or world museums, there is more background information. Unfortunately, not everything is made visible or "offered" to tourists. There are many and diverse restaurants and cafes (recommended: Resto Orly, just past the railway line).

A very beautiful city with many restaurants, ideal as a base for exploring the surrounding area. Antwerp is easily accessible by train. The market square is lovely, and there's a very nice market on Saturdays. Highly recommended.

A beautiful apartment in the centre of Lier right on the water. Very stylishly decorated and well equipped. The welcome and communication with the host was great. She was very responsive to any questions we had and kept us informed of things going on in the beautiful town. Thank you for a lovely stay :)
