The room was exactly as the pictures on booking. The host is very kind, the room is beautiful and very comfortable. The hotel is very close to the main beach and you just walk 2 minutes to find market, cafes, restaurants and the main beach.

Everything was beyond expectations! First the beautiful place, very nice decorated, beautiful entrance. Each room had their own little private garden and open kitchen and the best the outdoor shower! And à hamac!!! Room was awesome and even it had Netflix! Nice to finish the end of the day! The owner CArlo!, was so accommodating, he was kind enough to bring me many times to the city always with the smile! Doing his best for the tours and recommendations. The breakfast was abundant : eggs fruits handmade bread and cake tea coffee fresh juice and delicious! The staff in kitchen was adorable and kind Really highly recommended and not too far by walk from the center I really enjoyed my 4 days there. Thanks hope to come back

Alter do Chão is a charming village by the Tapajos River.

Alter do Chão is a charming village by the Tapajos River. Nice river beaches, nice restaurants and a lot of sightseeing around, visits to Igarapés, river cruises, forest walks and much more. It is a good place to stay for a few days, lots to do and to appreciate.

Nice village with wonderful beaches nearby.

Nice village with wonderful beaches nearby. The boat tours usually take the entire day and I really recommend taking them instead of staying in Alter if you do not have too much time. Alter is growing fast and a bit out of control, it is also the weekend place from the people from Santarém. During the week it is quiet and Ilha do Amor is not very crowded. Also do not miss the Carimbó!

Too trendy and noisy now-a-days.

Too trendy and noisy now-a-days. It is also quite expensive for some of the services offered. It used to be much better (as most tourist places in Brazil). Travelers and boat owners insist on playing loud and boring music through out their staying on the beaches or during sunset, for instance. As if everyone around had to have the same bad taste for music! Alter is also dirty and it is clear neither the government nor the tourists play their roles. VERY sad!!!!
