We liked the pool and the jacuzzi was amazing. The staff are not keen to increase the temperature of either the steam or the sauna which is a bit annoying as it is a bit low. It is about a km walk into the main centre, the restaurant offers good food though if you cant be bothered to walk!

Honestly it was perfect. We chose this accommodation at the last minute after another one cancelled on us. We honestly couldn't have been happier. Set in Bonito, 5 mi from Natural Aquarium, Bonito Ecotel offers accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a bar and a garden. The staff was incredibly hospitable from the moment I made the reservation. We basically had the hotel to ourselves all week, as we were there before the long holiday weekend. The breakfast options were fantastic, the room was a nice size, and the staff went out of their way to make sure our needs were met, even allowing us to extend our late check out time when we were running late coming off one of our tours. They even joined me in surprising my girlfriend for her birthday with a delicious homemade cake, planning everything for what turned out to be a very special day. Muito obrigado por tudo!

A place set-up to link the tourist to fresh water activities. Real opportunity for snorkeling and swimming with fishes. The city centre has not too much to offer and food is really expensive. Worth if you are not on a budget.
While the surrounding offers spectacular nature, the vibe of the place is for you to come as a tourist, overpay for the tourist attractions, and leave. Most activities have to be done with a guide through an agency so you can't really enjoy things at your own pace. No reason to stay longer than doing the tours you've chosen. Every activity is overpriced (I've traveled around the world) under the pretense of eco-tourism. So, for example, I paid ~$78US (344 BRL) for a couple of hours snorkeling trip with lunch. A fair price in Brazil would likely be a quarter of that. I doubt the nice "eco" part of the intentions when places sell water in bottles and don't offer filtered water for free. Considering restaurants offer all types of meat (including cayman) and fish, there's not much care for the environment but for the pockets of the people owning the land which, IMHO, should have been made a nature reserve rather than private farms. I wouldn't consider it a Brazilian eco-tourism success story but rather an oligopoly success in exploiting natural resources for maximized profits.
We stayed in Bonito for a week in total. This is one of my fav places in Brazil so far. We ate at Juanita and Casa de Jaao. We loved the caves, especially Abismo, we also loved the Nascente Azul and Rio de Prata. We visited Mimosa and adored swimming behind the waterfalls, we did tubing and boating at the RIO FORMOSO. We love it here! Bonito is an understatement Would recommend hiring a car then you are free to move around as you want, we also stayed at the Zagaia resort and loved that too,
The purpose of my travel was birding. In additon we made an excursion on Rio Sucuri. We planned also to visit Gruta Azul, but because of a temporary physical problem we desisted (many degrees down and up). Bonito has many options for visitors that love nature and activities in nature. However prices of esxcursions are expensive for Brazilian standards. The restaurant at the Pousada Olho d'Água (edge of the town) offers all-day tasteful and well-served meals for a good price, including various vegetarian options. In nearby Jardim there is the Buraco dos Araras en flutuation and other options in Rio da Prata, with an excellent lunch buffet.
Amazing place to go and spend a feel days! Bonito is really beautiful and we loved this trip. Everything was great! I recommend this experience, it’s like Chapada Diamantina in Bahia/Brazil. Stunning, superb!
Bonito is a very nice town about 4 hours driving away from Campo Grande. I would suggest flying from Campinas to Bonito, rather than driving from Campo Grande, as we did. Bonito has its own airport and is serviced by Azul. Bonito is really only a service town to all the eco-tourism and agriculture in the area. As far as Brazilian locations go - very safe. The town is nothing special during the day, but has a nice feel about it at night. All the services catering to tourists stay open until 10pm. Suggest you acquire a rental car, as many activities require some degree of driving from Bonito itself - this will just make your trip a lot easier. Suggest you begin your adventure with snorkelling at the Natural Aquarium - a short distance from town. On a nice day you can stay here all day, and swim and relax poolside. They also have a restaurant on site. Remember to book all activities in advance. Enjoy.
