When we got to Trancoso we realized there were no international bank machines. The owners went above and beyond to help us figure out this situation. They were so kind, helpful, the breakfast was phenomenal, and it was truly a place where you could relax and recharge. I left a little piece of my soul there and I can't wait to go back!

Everything! We were staying in one of the larger rooms, which was spacious, tastefully decorated, had a very comfortable bed and was just lovely. The breakfast is incredible and the staff super warm, attentive and welcoming. Truly, a wonderful place to where we will surely return.

From the moment we arrived, every single detail about our stay was absolutely perfect. The warm welcome from Virginia, the gorgeous room, and the beautiful lush forest surrounding the rooms and pool—all of it just blew us away. We loved the super delicious breakfast served every day in the hotel restaurant, made to order with fresh ingredients and a big smile. ❤️ The room was spacious, well-lit, beautifully decorated, and kept tidy and clean throughout our stay, with impressive attention to detail—like ensuring the candles and bath salts were always topped off. Virginia, Pedro, and the rest of the staff were lovely, communicative, and proactive, constantly making sure we had everything we needed. The communication via WhatsApp made everything super smooth and easy, and we felt like we could get help with anything we needed! 🙏🏻 Thank you very much! 🙏🏻❤️

My wife and I agreed that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Here are some highlights of our stay: 1- Warm welcome and attention: Pedro (hotel concierge) contacted us a few days before our arrival to help us with any questions we had. During our stay, he took care of all our requests with a big smile and made us the best caipirinhas in Brazil. 2- Impeccable rooms and amenities: Everything at the hotel was better than the pictures. The room was extremely clean with brand new appliances. The decoration and every single detail made our stay perfect. My wife is picky about hotel rooms, and she had a big smile on her face when she opened the door of the room. 3- Breakfast: I don't have words for the high-quality food at breakfast. All the staff was super friendly and the hotel provided a ton of options. We tried to have them all but it was impossible. 4- Location: The hotel was located near the Quadrado (3min driving / 10min walk) in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. Perfect for going to dinner and getting back for a great sleep. 5- Owners: We had the pleasure of meeting Cristian and Patricia a few times. We shared nice chats, and they were very attentive and help us to plan our days there and book nice restaurants for lunch and dinner.

Trancoso is an absolute must if you are looking to explore...

Trancoso is an absolute must if you are looking to explore Brazil and Bahia. It has stunning beaches and views, but also has a very lively atmosphere with plenty of amazing restaurants and shops, easily walkable around Quadrado. The food is amazing, with plenty of amazing local cuisine options. Would highly recommend visiting Praia dos Nativos, Praia do Espelho e Praia da Tartaruga.

We stayed in the quadrado: Gorgeous little “boho-style” town, incredible food, very romantic, gorgeous beaches but I would definitely recommend renting a car as you need it to discover the beaches in the area!

Great vibe on the quadrado, lots of good restaurants and boutiques. Now also a couple of cocktail bars: Ginger and Muru. Good options for days trips up and down the coast and great beach clubs to visit.

Getting there is a bit difficult, there is no Uber service and the taxis charge CRAZY prices. We paid $R250 each way to and from the airport. It was about 40 km by car, which takes a ferry across the waterway. The town is very rugged, very casual dress is appropriate. The road in front of our place on Rua Cuba was sand, lots of water to walk around. To go to the beaches we walked as getting a ride was too difficult and expensive, $R150 or a 30 minute walk.. We were there during the low season, late June. When we went to dinner the places were empty. We had high expectations for the food per descriptions but the food was not great. I had lobster at Cupim Santos and it was overcooked, my niece had the flambe prawns in a cream sauce with pineapple, it was too sweet. The best thing about that dinner was the fresh juice. We prefered the grilled shimp with oil and garlic offered at beaches to the restaurant meals.

A very safe and beautiful city with amazing forrest and not crowded beach. You can walk day and night without fear. Its possible to see tiny monkeys, hummingbirds, crabs and more. Quadrado and centro are both well worth a visit. Many restaurants at the quadrado, some overpriced, but in the back inside amazing views over the jungle. The city should just invest in better roads, more streetlights and education in english.

Trancoso is still a nice historic place worth a visit.

Trancoso is still a nice historic place worth a visit. Yet be aware: places like Praia de Espelho and some other beaches are packed during weekends and even during the week in the holidays crowded. So while being a charming village still, it is fully discovered, overpriced and hard to spontaneously find a table in any restaurant, since it is generally full. Do not expect and picturesque empty village but be prepared for crowds.

We had the most amazing time at Vila Sao Joao. The team was so helpful and friendly, always going above and beyond to help us organise things to do and book whatever was needed. The hotel facilities were new, beautiful, clean and comfortable - it was a luxurious & restful stay. The food at the hotel at breakfast & afternoon coffee was amazing. The location is also ideal: you are very close to Quadrado but slightly away so that it feels quiet and secluded.

I loved the fact I could rent the quadri for a decent price, which is a must to go around Trancoso (day trips), and made the trip at night to the center more comfortable. Pousa is brand new (only opened a week when we arrived) and has all the comfort you need. Good shower, and nice beds.
