Trancoso is still a nice historic place worth a visit.
Trancoso is still a nice historic place worth a visit. Yet be aware: places like Praia de Espelho and some other beaches are packed during weekends and even during the week in the holidays crowded. So while being a charming village still, it is fully discovered, overpriced and hard to spontaneously find a table in any restaurant, since it is generally full. Do not expect and picturesque empty village but be prepared for crowds.

Trancoso is pure magic. There wasn't one thing we didn't like about this beautiful place and hope to be back very soon. Our favorite spots were Capim Santo for dinner and the UXUA beach bungalows. Trancoso is a hidden gem, a small town with the most beautiful beaches, it has a lot of character with beautiful buildings around the quadrado, walking is the easiest way to get around, but the street s and roads are narrow and there are lots of hills so it will certainly help you to be fit! There's a big selection of restaurants and cafes around the quadrado, some are quite expensive and not necessarily better than the cheaper places, don't judge a restaurant on how full it is as the nicest restaurant we ate at there, the UXUA Pousada was very quiet, there are also many beach bars from expensive to affordable, it all depends what appeals to you

This place is really paradise it has a beautifull little village center called the ‘ quadrado’ with all the historical houses painted in diferent colors, everyday i walked for hours on deserted beaches with transparent green hot sea water, white sand and coconut trees. You will find amazing restaurants and 5 star boutique hotels in the villa and in the beach. Food is amazing, lots of crafts and art to buy. People are very nice and sweet. Very easy to move around by foot or by car. I went to Bali recently and it was good but this place is fantastic!!! places not to miss: -quadrado plaza -capim santo restaurant/hotel -uxua restaurant/hotel -silvana restaurant ask for the moqueca -praia das tartarugas lunch in the coolest beach restaurant ever! you go up a túnel from the beach

Only a block from the main street in Trancoso - but isolated enough that you have silence and tranquility at night. Peaceful place to sleep.
