Charlottetown is such a delightful city to visit with a mix of historical and newer buildings and homes. Easy to walk to several historical sights and to admire the exterior architecture and the groomed yards of many homes. You need 2+ full days to see and fully absorb this place.

We liked the vibe of the city, but I would have stayed in...
We liked the vibe of the city, but I would have stayed in either downtown or the suburbs. We visited Green Gables, which was beautiful, but remember this is not the house the movie was made in.
I think if we visited the place during summer days, it would be more pleasant. We were there at the end of September which was a bit brizzy.

The food at Slaymaker and Nichols and Gahan is excellent. It is an easy walking city, and there are lots of festivals and events.

The downtown was lovely.
The downtown was lovely. The shops and local people were kind and friendly. Lots of restaurants to suit your taste and all that we tried were delicious. The port was bustling with cruise ship activity. The food hall at the port was open with lots of choices and the cruise ship hall had lots of local vendors selling their goods. There is lots to see and explore.

I was in Charlottetown before and after visiting other parts...
I was in Charlottetown before and after visiting other parts of the province - 2 full days and evenings.
The Anne of Green Gables musical was wonderful - the 3rd time I've seen it in over 4 decades and I was surprised how familiar the songs were and how many I find moving. I never tire of the story, especially Anne's infectious enthusiams and Matthew's quiet insights and love. The dancing, singing and acting were wonderful. I appreciated that there was diversity in the cast.
We walked the historic walk and I found the stories of the 1864 Charlottetown conference fascinating, including its being overshadowed by a Circus! The beautiful older homes and other buildings were a delight. Various sculptures added to the experience.
The Cows Ice Cream and evening meals (Cork and Cast) were great.
We saw a wonderful film (The Salt Path) at a beautiful small, non profit independent theatre - City Cinema.

Small town of 40,000 but on this remote island it’s huge.
Small town of 40,000 but on this remote island it’s huge. So much cultural entertainment and activities for all to enjoy. We first visited the racetrack/casino then we spent the second day at the Annual Shellfish Seafood festival. The next night we ate the local Founders Fresh Seafood Restaurant and Market on the waterfront. Third day we headed to the Anne of Green Gables house and museum, a must visit when on PEI. Getting around town is easy as the main divided 4 lane highway goes around and thru town!

The hotel is right in the heart of downtown Charlottetown. Everything is walking distance. The staff was very friendly. Rooms are spacious and very clean. We didn't mind the minimalistic style or tinted glass bathroom walls. We would come back any time. We were on the 4th floor and only heard noise from the arcade once.

This is a great hotel. It is within walking distance to downtown. There were numerous restaurants around us. We enjoyed the free breakfast which was fresh and delivered to our table with a smile each day. The staff was wonderful.
