A picturesque city nestled upon the Atlantic Ocean. Halifax is alive with both it's past and it's future. For history buffs there is a lot to take in from the Citadel Hill, Barrington St, Peir 21 and the start of the Canadian dream for many immigrants, the haunted walks that tell of first settlers still here, to the Halifax Explosion site. This city is wonderfully alive with its roots, both good and bad. Downtown Halifax is a walk through quaint, trendy shops with unique East Coast flavours. Make sure to check out some of the breweries and local restaurants along the boardwalk for some incredible flavours and a fun dining experience. Across the harbour is Dartmouth and it's downtown area. You again get this feeling of small town shopping through unique and local shops and can often forget that you're in a capital city. The city also serves as a great launching pad to other incredible Nova Scotia destinations filled with insightful and sobering history and that unmistakable Nova Scotia style. From the Eastern Shore and it's lighthouses, to Yarmouth, to Digby and their scallops, to the valley and it's forts, to the Cabot trail in Cape Breton, the history and charm of this province is on display in every inch and corner of this delightful and beautiful province.
We didn't do much while there . Our objective was to bring our son home for few days so shopped sparingly to avoid too much contact with the public. Procedures were in place which was good to see although around this time the covid cases started escalating again,
The location was excellent. You could walk 10 minutes in any direction to access the National Park ( Cidatel Hill) along with Halifax waterfront. So many great non box restaurants and drinking Establishments. Felt safe.
Halifax is a small scale world-class city. The extensive waterfront is in the midst of an amazing development of recreational, commercial and residential facilities. There are plenty of nearby historic and unique places of interest to visit and enjoy without having to spend time commuting between spots. With multiple universities in the city centre, the vibe is "young & positive" It's a walkable and safe environment. Definitely worth a multiple-day visit for either pleasure or business. Be sure to drop by Henry House on Barrington Street for drinks and a meal; as good as any upscale gastropub in West end London England!
The room was very clean, and tidy really comfortable, private, and was up to date for the amenities, we had a wonderfull night at the restaurant and casino after, would stay there again most definitely.
love to visit the public gardens and of course the water front down town. . One of our favorite places to eat while in Halifax is Jims Resturant on the Bedford Hwy. His seafood is to die for especially the whole fried clams. Its fairly easy to get around Halifax but i would recommend having a google map. Avoid getting to the hotel too late in the afternoon as the week day traffic can make it very difficult to gain entrance to the hotel parking lot. No problem otherwise.

The local family feel is amazing. The very well built and perfectly located overlook is also amazing! The continental breakfast in the fridge wasn't even necessary, our double room was so clean my GF told me to stop commenting on it. It's amazing to have a clean, open, home-like place to stay - there can't be any complaints!
I liked everything about the stay. The breakfast buffet was amazing, temperature control was great. Staff were lovely. I liked the view from my room and the bed was huge and super comfortable. Next time I'm in Halifax, I am definitely staying at Homewood Suites and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else!

Ac was great, breakfast had toast, cereal, milk, juice, bagels and fruits. Full breakfast. Parking is available. Overall great stay.
