I grew up in Dartmouth and much has changed since I moved to the USA but it is always great to go back. If you like shopping and good food it's a great place to visit. It's right across the harbor from Halifax with it's vibrant nightlife and historical sight seeing. Make sure you try a donair which is like a gyro but much much tastier, a true maritime treat!
Loved the convenience of the location of the Hampton Hotel in the Dartmouth Crossing. Safe walking in a snow storm on cleaned sidewalks, restaurants were within walking distance. movie theater nearby.
Darthmouth was a great city to visit, great shopping and excellent restaurants. We ate at Mic Mac Bar and Grill. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very festive. I would certainly go there again and recommend it to my friends.
Dartmouth is the smaller, across the harbour, sister city, of Halifax. There is lots of shopping there at Mic Mac and the new Dartmouth Crossing Mall with an IKEA coming soon. Halifax is easily accessible over the two bridges. Dartmouth lodgings are generally less than Halifax.
We spent the weekend shopping!! It was a daughter mother trip so we're very happy to go to the Mic Mac Mall, Dartmouth Crossing, Halifax Shopping Mall and going into the shopping down at the waterfront!! We love Halifax!! Great fun city with good shopping
We were actually visiting Halifax with friends. The Halifax hotels were too expensive so we crossed the bridge to Dartmouth. The downtown part by the waterfront has been fixed up nicely. The main attractions are in Halifax.
