We loved staying in this beautiful B&B, conveniently located near Inverness, but in a quiet and secluded location. Located in Port Hood in the Nova Scotia region, with Sunset Beach and Port Hood Beach nearby, The Fiddle and the Sea Bed and Breakfast has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. We had a great stay at the Fiddle and the Sea. It was well located in the centre of town, we were greeted with homemade cookies in the room, breakfast was delicious (homemade bread, frittata, yogurt, fruit), the owners were very welcoming and even played the fiddle during breakfast, and the room was very clean and quiet. We would highly recommend this BnB for anyone passing through or staying in Port Hood. We look forward to visiting again and hope to include the stop as part of biking the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail. Note: The owners offered to pick up or drop off people plus bikes at either end of the trail.

Inverness is a golfer’s paradise, a beach lovers dream, and a place filled with rich history and phenomenal people! It’s beach town feel, great food and variety in accommodation and things to do makes it Cape Breton’s hotspot! If you are lucky enough to get a place to stay, you won’t want to leave!
We spent only one afternoon/evening in Inverness, mainly to eat dinner and take in a Celtic Colours concert. There are only a couple of restaurants in the town and because of the concert, our first choice was packed. Luckily, a food truck was set up on the main street and we were happy with our fish and chips meals.
I loved the beach walk and the colours ..The people were helpful and kind .. I would like to think that the roll on effect of the golf course & the wealth that comes in from that would have a positive impact on the infrastructure for the locals .. I enjoyed my supper at Glenora , and the music was lovely . It’s so great that after the coal mine closing that they have been able to reuse the land in a way that enhances the beauty of the area ..and yet preserved some of the history by having a museum ..
One bedroom cottage overlooking the ocean with kitchenette with all the necessities. Patio with picnic table and chairs overlooking the ocean. It’s a cozy cottage. The queen size bed was super comfy! Close to the town and next to the golf course and access to the beach ! Will be back!
I do like how close the vicinity is to many beaches in the area. At times Inverness is growing so much that it is challenging to get the service (such as food etc). Stores close very early so you must be prepared for that.
