We were a little disapointed with the BigSplash at Bingemans water park. The wave pool was really dialled down. The water slides were lot of fun. We made the best of our day even though it was a little cold and overcast. Our Hotel was wonderful. Great value for the cost. Had a great time and meal at the Moose restaurant. Kitchener is a beautiful area. We would have enjoyed a longer stay.
The price couldn't be beat. Room is great with a full size fridge and a microwave. I would definitely recommend this to a family. Many shops and movie theaters close by, also lots of places to eat. And for the Tim Horton fans , one is right next door.
I grew up in Kitchener when it wasn't so busy and a lot smaller. It is changed so much. For a tourist, Kitchener does have a lot of things to do and see. Since I was there for a funeral, I didn't see much. One thing I do not like is that train type thing. I found that the roads are a mess with that. Some places it is even hard for a car to go by. I would like to know if there was an emergency downtown, how would an ambulance get by if the train was going through and cars, where would they go? As far as I could see the ambulance would not get through. One more wrong thing I did not like to see in the heart of downtown was homeless people sleeping in the middle of sidewalks. When I was growing up in Kitchener, the downtown area, was well kept and was safe and a great place to shop
Kitchener is quite a nice place to visit: the downtown area is attractive and it's easy to see the sights on foot. Several good restaurants and pubs are available, and if you enjoy browsing in bookstores you're in luck: there are several right on King Street, which is the main drag in Kitchener and on into the adjacent municipality of Waterloo. If you have time and enjoy walking, definitely venture into the city parks and the residential neighborhoods that adjoin downtown: they're lovely.
Thought of it as lovely suburb of Toronto. In fact nothing but easier way to.get there. Really nothing for tourists. I thought airport like a junior high version of airport. Taxis difficult if not impossible to come by but with working ATM. Nationwide computer failure by Rogers did not help.
I went to Kitchener from Toronto (Etobicoke) on the first day of December to see the Bingemann Gift of Lights drive-thru--excellent. The next day I went to the St. Jacob's Market and Outlet Stores. I went around 10 am--perfect time to go in the winter months--not too crowded--excellent! Thankfully both days were great weather-wise--sunny in the AM. Drivers are like Montreal drivers--terrible and very fast. Need a GPS to get around--very, very confusing City to get to events
Rooms were clean and staff were attentive if there were any problems. I was traveling with my 3.5 year old, and it was her first time in a hotel. The woman at reception (on Thursday around 4) was so lovely that everything got off to a great start (my daughter said she was one of the reasons she liked the hotel), but actually everyone at reception was great. And, we could watch the Kitchener Glockenspiel from our window. The rooms were quiet and everything worked well.
There was no breakfast there giving away granola bars the purchased at Costco. The cost of which when calculated would not be more than $2 There are serving Egg sandwiches that has bacon adds there is no choice for the vegetarian people. The manager has put a policy in place that if the client stays more than 5 minutes are the checkout time he's gonna charge him $10 an hour.. this was a first for me at this hotel and this location.
Kitchener
Unique and serene backyard filled with plants and several water features. Huge Poi fish pond as the main point of attraction. Several seating areas to relax and contemplate all the surrounding beauty. Pristine bedroom with private entrance, a comfortable bed and attention to every detail. Very thoughtful and welcoming hosts!
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great. Parking on site and very reasonable room prices. Good value for money. Lots of little convenience items available at the shop downstairs. I would stay there again with my family and/or recommend to friends.

Everything is fine except that the Wifi is poor. The room is clean and the bathroom is clean as well. Cleaning staff help clean the public area everyday.
Loved the welcome cookies! They were out when I arrived, so the front desk clerk called me when the new batch was ready!
