Downtown is best explored on foot, as you weave your way through skyscrapers and visit museums such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. In the winter time you can steer clear of icy paths by heading underground through the passages of the Underground City, full of shops, cinemas and food courts.
From here metros will conveniently take you outwards in any direction you might want to go, from the historic Old Montreal to the hip café and restaurant culture of the Quartier Latin-Le Village.
In summer, stay closer to the old town and head outdoors in Parc Jean-Drapeau on the St Lawrence River islands of Île Sainte-Helen and Île Notre-Dame. If the weather isn’t fine enough for rowing, water-skiing and beaches then head to the Montreal Casino.

Montreal is unique in N America.
Montreal is unique in N America. It is big enough, cool enough, funny enough and architecturally stunning. Only Boston and NYC come close. Its the one city that makes Canada cool. Everyone speaks english there's no issues but french makes in very different in a Euro way, so enjoy that. The food anywhere is spectacular. Winter is gorgeous and cold. Summer is also beautiful and very hot and humid.

The food is amazing.
The food is amazing. The people are very friendly and immediately switched to flawless English when you don’t speak French back to them they do greet you with a bonjour but if you say hello, they immediately switch they’re so friendly and so nice and the city is beautiful Not as clean as I thought it would be as far as graffiti goes, but it wasn’t bad for a large metropolitan city I highly recommend Schwartz smoked meat and marathon Greek food I also had some amazing crabs, but I can’t remember the place and a dessert from holy choco That was unreal amazingly good

Montreal is a vibrant and multi-varied city, as you would expect of a high-level (albeit not top-tier) world-class city. It is as interesting and enjoyable to visit as most other similar-sized cities in North America, with the added benefit (if this is to the visitor's taste) of a predominantly French-language culture. Montreal is a beautiful, vibrant city with friendly people and excellent restaurants. We really enjoyed walking to the top of Mount Royal, which was stunning in its autumn colors, and spent quite a bit of time exploring the Old Port and various churches. Perfect for a 2-night stay.

Montreal worked well for hosting our international meeting.
Montreal worked well for hosting our international meeting. Participants from the UK, USA, France and other parts of Canada were enthusiastic to come to Montreal. We all enjoyed both our business activities and our evenings with good food and live jazz in Old Montreal. Jardin Nelson in Place Jacques Cartier on a warm Fall evening was a highlight.
