If you know, you know ! Here you will find something special. Simple, grounded, no frills but full of warmth, hospitality, laughter and great food. Nicoletta and Kiki were wonderful, the food and drink all homemade, all local, was great. Peaceful, serene with stunning views. If you are lucky you might bump into Angelina Jolie... we did !

The hosts were very accommodating. Stunning location and view from a beautiful garden. Many extras in the kitchen to nibble on too. The house is like entering a portal to another era. Very quaint and quiet.

The simplicity of check in using codes to enter the house and room. The rooms are newly renovated (Aug 2025) with an excellent bed and shower/bathroom. Loved my stay. Highlight was having supper in the villages Restaurant Osteria Salzi (village square). Would recommend both to anyone hiking through on the Strada Alta and the Trans Swiss Route (Nr 2).

The hotel is wonderful — the location, the view from the room, and the overall design are truly impressive. The staff is very friendly. We arrived around 9:00 PM with a small child and asked if they could make some soup, even though the restaurant was already closed. They gladly prepared a delicious soup for us. The room was very spacious and comfortable — we really liked it. We even wondered why the hotel is rated 3 stars and not 4, as it definitely meets the standards of a 4-star hotel. Breakfast was excellent — everything you need for a good morning meal. We were very satisfied. The only thing missing in the room was a kettle — that would have been perfect!

Good breakfast. Short walk to local waterfall which was well worth a visit to cool us down on a hot day. Faido was cooler than Tuscany had been, so it didn't matter too much that there was no air-conditioning. .
