We came for a relaxing minibreak and it was just perfect! Location is amazing, the hotel is surrounded by the mountains, which can be admired from room windows and balcony. The main village with stores is less than 2 km away, so very close but far enough to be away from the touristic hassle. The Sunnbüel cable car is literally 2 minute walk from the hotel, so after spending a wonderful day hiking at the snowy Alps, we stepped straight to warm sauna and relaxing whirlpool, which are available for guests at any time of the day. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, the breakfast had great selection, everything was spotlessly clean, the room was cozy and spacious. We enjoyed our stay so much that we ended up staying an extra night, which the staff helped to arrange without any issues. Highly recommend this hotel!!

A very beautiful alpine town with beautiful views.

A very beautiful alpine town with beautiful views. Not too far from Zurich or Bern. Oeschinensee panoramic hike was amazing. We visited Blausee which is only 10 minutes by bus ride. There are plenty of hikes which we did not have much time to explore.

Kandersteg is a quiet, beautiful town, especially in winter...

Kandersteg is a quiet, beautiful town, especially in winter with its snow-covered mountains and the lively atmosphere of skiing and stunning scenery. The train station makes it easy to get around and explore other places. The slopes are excellent, and there's no over-tourism, which is lovely.

Kandersteg was incredible, out of season so was super quiet...

Kandersteg was incredible, out of season so was super quiet for the perfect chilled couple of days. The hike to lake Oeschinensee was beautiful, the snow adding to the whole experience. Great transport links to the rest of Switzerland, has shops to provide what you’ll need while you’re there to cosy up in an apartment for a few days.

Kandersteg is a beautiful place for hiking and outdoor activities. I highly recommend to go to the Oeschenesee, it was one of our favorites on our trip. If you stay a little bit longer, maybe you also want to go to Saint-Leonard underground lake, what is easy to access with a car train that leaves from Kandersteg.

The apartment was spacious and had a terrific view from the balcony. Free parking was close by and checking in was a breeze. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and the refrigerator was good sized. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for 5 adult guests. We could stay here again and highly recommend this property.

Kandersteg is a really lovely valley and town - not as...

Kandersteg is a really lovely valley and town - not as touristy as other places but really beautiful and charming. I can recommend the tourist office (very nice people), Beckerei Marmotte for a real authentic village bakery and cafe/restaurant, and all the walks and cablecars - I can't wait to be back.

Clean , comfortable stay. We had a Nice view from our window (please refer to the photo) which is the highlight of our stay. It is also near from the cable car station. A 15min walk from the main train station but mostly flat. There is also a bus stop around 2-5 mins walk. Nice breakfast . Staffs are friendly. Affordable for a place like Kandersteg, near Oeschinensee with some privacy. I will book in this hotel if I will visit Kandersteg again. The hotel gave us also guestcards.

+ the view is amazing + 5 mins walk to oeschinensee + nearby mini market Volg, Coop + complete kitchen utilities (yes, we cook there) + amazing bed (master bedroom) I literally sleep so well at night + Fan in the room + 9 min walk from the Kandersteg Station / 3 mins by bus but we don’t take the bus during our trip :) + towel and shower gel + they gave us lots of freebies such as coffee capsule, chocolate, drink :) (yes they have coffee machine)

View of the balcony was stunning. Located approximately half a mile from the train station, so a 10 minute stroll. Bus stops 200m away in both directions, which is free if you’re staying in Kandersteg with the guest card. Hotel will shuttle you back to station on leaving, no issues. Kandersteg is lovely unspoiled little town and I hope it stays that way. Awesome place for walking with mountain streams and forests. Recommended.
