For a short ski break, with a stay at the Helvetia Hotel, Morgins is pretty well perfect. Easy access to the slopes, varied skiing with access to the wider PdS area, a couple of supermarkets and a few ski shops. Eating out is limited to four or five restaurants, but the one we liked the most was the Buvette des Sports. Great, simple mountain food, well done and at reasonable prices. There is brilliant skiing on the Swiss side of the PdS, with the benefits of being much much quieter than the French areas, no queues when we were there (first week March - and Avoriaz was still a zoo)
The only drawback to staying in Morgins is transfers from Geneva. It's much much harder to find a transfer to Morgins than any of the other areas and a lot more expensive. Be warned!
That aside, we'd go back in a heartbeat.
