The hotel is wonderful — the location, the view from the room, and the overall design are truly impressive. The staff is very friendly. We arrived around 9:00 PM with a small child and asked if they could make some soup, even though the restaurant was already closed. They gladly prepared a delicious soup for us. The room was very spacious and comfortable — we really liked it. We even wondered why the hotel is rated 3 stars and not 4, as it definitely meets the standards of a 4-star hotel. Breakfast was excellent — everything you need for a good morning meal. We were very satisfied. The only thing missing in the room was a kettle — that would have been perfect!

We were warmly welcomed into this charming hotel (in the same ownership for four generations) by helpful staff who ensured that all our needs were looked after. Our motorcycle was housed in the adjoining garage, our bedroom was large, bright and airy, spotlessly clean and comfortable. With bar and restaurant facilities also available, we highly recommend Albergo Defanti.

We came to the hotel for a hiking weekend. If you do not mind extra 15 minutes of bus travel, this place is an excellent alternative to usually fully booked hotels in Olivone. All trails in Greina and Lukmanier Pass areas are easily accessible. Simple property is easy to find; on the main road, but despite this no disturbing noise. Excellent staff (speaking good English) was very helpful and accommodated all our requests. The restaurant offers simple but tasty dishes (including great choice of really good pizzas) at a reasonable (on Swiss scale) prices. We think this was a good value for money and will be happy to come again
