A very pleasant little town on the shores of a rather nice lake with views of Pilatus and Rigi and, if the weather was clear, snowy mountains beyond. Nowhere is very far from anywhere else. On one of the main Swiss north-south railway lines, so excellent connections to everywhere.

Zug is a modern town that relies on international business...
Zug is a modern town that relies on international business and international visitors... Generally people are friendly and very family orientated, you may occasionally find the odd old 'grumpy' , wealthy swiss person that will correct your German grammar or look down their nose at you... But apart from this it's hard to fault this lakeside town. The old town is stunning and the restaurants and bars are truly special. The lake is stunning and the mountainous backdrop is truly beautiful. My daughter loved the open pedestrian friendly streets and apart from the high prices it's a great place to live/ work or visit especially for families and slightly older people.

This was a charming place to stay that was near enough to Zurich airport for departure, but not right in the city (which is also lovely, but we wanted to try a different place to stay). The activities in Zug are outdoors, so in nice weather it's a beautiful place to be.

It’s a very quiet & beautiful little Swiss town that has...
It’s a very quiet & beautiful little Swiss town that has everything you need for comfort and distance wise very reachable: restaurants, gyms, bars, commute, shops, etc. it’s especially known for amazing lakes, stalactite caves, wild green nature around, parks- incl a bird park by the lake and other peaceful poetic sights.
The city is very clean.

The tax heaven on Switzerland. Quiet nice place to live. For tourism? Give me a break, it's country side. Outdoor activities, walking and enjoying big lake (Zugersee).
But not really a tourist place. If you don't have business to do there, try in example Luzern and for city holidays Zurich.

Zug is very nice and amazing city, located at the beautiful lake Zugersee.
I recommend following restaurants:
Chez Ladur, Juanitos, Puccini, Zeno's and Sihlmatt in Menzingen.
Transport in Zug is easy, but you can reach interesting place in a short time just walking.

Exceptional service, thanks to Hotel Manager Olena. She took care of us during our entire stay. We were also offered an upgraded room and additional amenities. Highly competent staff. Attention to detail, individual care for each guest. Compliments from the hotel and gifts. We will definitely come again. Highly recommended for family travel, comfortable with children. And also great for business trips. Top-notch service, comparable to 5-star hotels. Highly recommended.

It is well thought and designed hotel , although has less number of rooms compared to any other hotels, but their common living space, kitchen area and kids area is very thoughtful and useful.
The lady at reception was so kind, active and responsive.

Breakfast area and options were nice, deco was also nice. I had dinner one night in hotel and the quality was good. Room itself was okay hardwood floors showed dust very easily. I was lucky not many people were walking up and down the corridor.
