Chaitén a lovely little town.
Chaitén a lovely little town. Its volcanic history is awe inspiring. Really interesting. Lots of places closed though, and it’s summer!! Seems a bit like a ghost town at weekends. Even though we were the only guests, Vanessa waited up for us and welcomed us with a smile. Considering there are no other hotels open anywhere near – we are extremely grateful for her kindness. The room is extremely comfortable with an ensuite and luxurious beds and bedding. The hotel has a great -almost Alpine- vibe. The fish in the restaurants comes from the lake itself and they catch it themselves.
