Beautiful beach and nice people. We loved the Beach, but also Ribeira da Prata, 10 minutes away by car, around 500 cve (~5€) to go there. We couldn't visit Tarrafal Resistencia House (Concentration Camp from 1940s) because it was holiday, but we'd like to.
A lot of places on lots of islands to visit - but Tarrafal has to be a top Cape Verde spot. Working fishing town that while not that pretty has its hidden charms; not over-run with visitors; rocky coast line, two good beaches and "mountains" as a backdrop. Hike in the morning, swim in the afternoon......with some good places to eat and drink in the evening.
A small town with the best beach in Santiago. There is little else, the town is incredibly quiet on weekdays and outside summer months, when people from Praia come to Tarrafal for the weekend. Additionally, the Tarrafal Camp is a 15-minute walk from town. The former concentration camp for political dissidents and African revolutionaries opened by the Portuguese dictatorship has been turned into a museum, recently refurbished and reopened (January 2016).

Incredibly friendly staff from Soraya to the owner Mauricio with a great wifi and service near the apt coming with all necessary cooking accessories. The house itself was luminous and clean and very spacious. Best of all its location was perfect as it was close to the beach but in a quiet part of town and near restaurants and grocery stores as well as a cute park. I would highly recommend this to anyone travelling to Tarrafal.

The place is excellent, make sure you got one of the 2 upper apartments for the view over the tarrafal bay.i booked the apartment with mountainview, but its good to know you also have the perfect view over the bay. Delfim is a really nice guy who speaks english. (go eat at sol e luna for the 'menu economico', super nice and cheap food)

A very nice welcome by Antonio. Clear explanation of the hostel and Tarrafal. We had a nice room and balcony and separate toilet and shower. They have just started and are applying improvements. Clean. No internet yet, but they are working on it. The same with hot water. Liked it very much!

It is a spacious apartment, all new and clean. Host Antionio was very helpfull. We also liked the assistance we got before travelling to Tarrafal, such as organizing a rental car on the Island of Santiago. Tarrafal is a quiet and beautiful place to be, including a nice small beach.

A hostel like it should be with a warm host and a comfortable, clean and secure environment. Host Kaida is American with Capeverdean roots and gave me the best insights to explore Tarrafal and the island. The hostel is situated very close to the beach, in a secure area.

Mex is a wonderful host, very nice and always trying to help. The room was clean and the bed comfy, hot water in the shower. It’s the best quality price rate you can find in Tarrafal, located in the center.

A small hotel (10 rooms in total), consisting of two buildings. We stayed in Villa Casa Strela, the newer building. Nice (small) swimming pool, simple but good breakfast, good WiFi.
