Loved our time in Olomouc, during intense rain and flooding! We still managed to get out and about a bit, mainly to places for food and drink. Great drinks, service and atmosphere at Malá Itálie v Olomouci Aperitivo Bar for pre-meal cocktails. Lovely friendly staff at U Červeného volka with great tank beer and food. Both places in Dolni námešti. Also enjoyed several floors of modern art, as well as a great viewpoint at the top of the building in Muzeum umění Olomouc. Vinný šenk U Zlatého beránka at Univerzitní 2 was good for a late-night specialist tipple: wines we knew, and wines we didn't. The History Museum in námesti Republiky was interesting too. (It's the yellow building a few paces from the Museum above.) We walked everywhere but there seemed to be plenty of trams and cabs. We arrived by train at the main station and walked through Bezručovy sady park and gardens to our hotel - Arigone. Easily got a cab back to the station, ordered by the reception staff for us. (Would love to go back and see the town in more sun: we had about an hour as we arrived, and another just as we left.)

My favourite Czech city outside Prague - a beautiful old town square, a truly unique museum (the Archdiocesan) & an awe-inspiring church interior (St Martin’s). Deserves more tourists but so glad to be in a beautiful old city without the hordes!

Wonderfull city with a great atmosphere and beautiful architecture. Not crowded to much - you can enjoy it in peace. A lot of nice restaurants and bars. Great for 1 or 2 night stay. Nice alternative for Prague etc. especially if you don't like crowds.

Very beautiful old town, lots of fountains, beautiful architecture, few tourists, peace and tranquility. Of course, there are three iconic places: St. Wenceslas Cathedral, Upper and Lower Squares. But just to walk along the local streets, sit in a cafe with a view of the beautiful buildings - this city, the "Second Prague", is definitely worth a visit, you will definitely not regret it. I loved the fact that I had a white christmas😊. It was snowing! The town is beautiful and historic. We visited the Holy Trinity Colomn, the Astronomical Clock, the Arcidiecézni Muzeum and St Wenceslas Cathedral which was all a walking distance from each other and from the hotel.moyo - Scored 1010

Lovely city centre with numerous historic buildings and sites. The many different kinds of cobblestones require good footware and do not always provide a safe footing, especially after rain. Be sure to visit as many of the different bakeries and confectioneries as you can and walk off the calories in the surrounding woods and moderate mountains. Also, you will be surprised how many varieties of pickled vegetables can make a tasty add-on any traditional Czech food. As everywhere in Czechia, local beers are manifold and definitely worth a try or five.
