I found very little of interest (the castle museum was closed). It's just an ordinary town with a nice square. I ate in the Trattoria where the waitress spoke good English and where they serve a decent pizza and good grappa.

Podebrady is amazing place for relaxing. There are many magnificent views and fountains. If you visit the place during Spring time you'll be under impression by excellent smells of flowers and blooming trees. This place is very clean and calm. You can enjoy by walking, cycling or skating along Labe river with good cycle path. You can be satisfied by gorgeous landscape on Podebrady castle. I can recommend good cafe Oliver which you can find close the promenade. Podebrady are also enter gate to the Stone formation which called Cesky Raj with castle Valdstejn and ruin of castle Trosky and Prachovske Skaly. You can find village Detenice also not far from Podebrady where is Old Czech pub which call Staroceska Krcma.

This hotel is a complete joke, after giving them lots of business I was in disbelief with the way they treated me and my guest. I made the realization that they could care less about the potential future services they could gain if they acted a little more humane towards their paying customers. Long story short, the receptionist in the front has some sort of attitude problem going on ALL the time, even when I STOP on my bike to give them business she's always frowning and so unpleasant. I would not want someone with her energy working for my company. As I tried to leave the hotel they blocked my car in with a truck ensuring I would not leave, leaving me to believe that I was a dishonest person when I am the one GIVING your hotel business. I go in and the first passive thing that comes out of her mouth is you need to pay me to double the amount since you had a guest over. Super passive aggressive and in no way to treat your costumers. I will NEVER spend another penny at this place, so sad that a beautiful facility could be run by some intolerant, inhospitable people.

Beautifull town, marvelous river, beautiful activities and sport location. Italian and Cz kitchen good and cheap, but also 4 star hotels closer to the river. I suggest for family, sportman, and couple in love.

Small, quiet city with a lot of people and places to see. Restaurants are cheaper, than in Prague, but the quality of the is extremely good! I would recommend Park Cafe, Cafe Oliver and Obora!! Also for pizza you can go and see Trattoria and Savoy. This city is small, so it is hard to get lost, it is a great plus. The center is worth going and of course the castle!

Nothing open at this time of year, not many people spoke english. Felt very unfrendly, at times. Took us 45 mins fo find a resturant to eat everywhere was booked, what was open anyway. Maybe just the wrong time of year.
