This family-run hotel in the medieval town of Colmberg offers traditional yet elegant rooms and a charming restaurant within a historic castle dating back over 1000 years. Great Hotel. Staff were very friendly, and very helpful. Room was very large and bed was very comfortable. Great breakfest.
The guesthouse has a garden and provides a playground. At Gutshof Colmberg, the rooms include a closet. Very cute place that was easy to get to. Very close to Rothenberg on der Tauber with much better parking. The food was delicious and the price can’t be beat! I can’t find anything negative to say about it!
At Gasthaus Zur Krone, each room is equipped with a desk and a TV. Featuring a private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer, rooms at the guesthouse also offer free WiFi, while some rooms are... There were board games for our children to play for the evening. We all LOVED that extra touch! And to have fresh dairy products for breakfast was fantastic. Everything was wonderful!
Quietly located in the Franconian village of Oberdachstetten, this traditional-style guesthouse offers a spacious sun terrace, free Wi-Fi internet, and regional cuisine. Gasthaus-Pension Hofmann is a traditional family run Gasthaus. The main house has the restaurant and rooms. The building that we stayed in was one of two additional houses on the property. The room was well laid out and spacious. Bathroom was nice with a decent shower. Frau and Herr Hofmann share the cooking duties. Dinner was great! Breakfast was a good traditional German breakfast with fresh hot Brötchen. Frau Hofmann even shared some cooking tips with me. She and her husband are very personable. They speak some English.
Colmberg is a small town with a great atmosphere. Being able to stay in a castle where history abounds was great. The castle restaurant was superb....no need to go down town. Throw in a simply great staff and the picture is complete.
Colmberg is literally in the middle of nowhere, and the sole reason to pass by is Burg Colmberg, which is an actual medieval castle turned hotel and restaurant. A democratic means for the peasants like myself to sleep in a castle. Actual food in Burg Colmberg was not that great, and there aren't very many choices in the surrounding area unless you like a somewhat lengthy drive. Still a great experience and well worth staying if driving on the Castle Road or Romantic Road.
The castle has a lot of character and personality! There were few other guests there when we stayed, so we had fun exploring the beautiful historic place. The nice lady running the restaurant allowed us to switch dining tables so that we could sit in front of the fire. She also explained the whole menu to us, as we could not read or speak the local language. Our beef-tips entree was served on a flaming hot miniature sword as a skewer. The complimentary breakfast was also delicious. Our night at Burg Colmwell was part of a 3 week, 10 country visit throughout Europe in celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary. It was definitely one of the very top highlights of the whole trip!

We were here for a wedding so the location was especially good, generally the location is good. The castle is a lovely spot for a weddding or a romatic gettaway. Mostly the staff were friendly though the manager was a little brusque. Overall a very nice hotel

Looks like the former guest home to the neighbouring castle. The owner and restaurant service was first rate! This Guest House has great history and character!
