Beautiful and a nice place to hang around. I cycled along the river Elbe, and took lots of photos of the city. The weather was good, with sun shine and blue sky, so the view was perfect. I suggest people can walk/cycle along the river, from Cathedral to Jahrtausendturm, just be enjoy the cozy. The Cathedral has a total different view b/w days and nights, so go there twice!

Magdeburg is a lovely city but there isn't too much to do/see there. You might want to visit for a day or two but it's not too spectacular. If you get there visit the Hundertwasserhaus.

Interesting city. Clean with nice places to eat - especially pan asian. Seems incredibly quiet and almost like two extra floors were built on every buiding that weren't needed. Interesting mixture of the old and new. The Stadtpark was a good contrast and a great view of the city from the top of the Albin-Müller-Turm. Easy to eat out. Slightly disappointed by the "number 1 attraction", the Grünen Zitadelle. Would have liked to take the tour, but it was only available in German so decided it was too expensive.HowardUnited Kingdom

Ask for a quiet room at the backside because of the noisy road at the front. We requested a double room with one big bed, but received a room with 2 separate beds. The beds were fine, room spacious. We didn't take breakfast, only coffee which was not tasty, and the price was Eur 5 for two persons. There is no minibar in the rooms, but you can buy cooled drinks at the reception.AgnesNetherlands

Public parking in the streets near the hotel was generally not a problem (however, don´t forget the mandatory green badge for the applicable low emission zone).
